Hit or miss

We have lived here for nearly three years in two different apartments. First we were on the top floor and it wasn t too bad. The kitchens are small but we were in a rather quiet part of the complex (not counting the jerk blasting his video games at 4 in the morning). But then the ants came. After fighting with it for months, we hoped that it was just an issue with that building and moved across the complex closer to the pool on the ground floor.
Big mistake. Our apartment backs up to where they funnel all of the rain water and any time it rains, our porch is flooded nearly to the sliding glass doors. We have ants again, despite being very clean (sorry people but the occasional bug and lizard is a byproduct of living in Florida, unless its more than occasional, get over it). And our neighbors are more than inconsiderate when it comes to volume levels after 10pm.
There are several things that have not been fixed because they are mostly cosmetic but still frustrating. The maintenance is hit or miss depending on who gets called out. (the pluming guy is a jerk and told our last neighbor 'if you stop having sex with your boyfriend in the shower, there might be enough hot water for you to wash your ****ing hair" Talk about inappropriate! Needless to say they moved). Another joy of ground floor is hearing every step the upstairs neighbors make. Every door slam echoes, and if voices get loud (especially on the patios or breezeways) there is little chance of you falling asleep.
And the parking. There would be more than enough parking if they would stop with the 'paid parking' BS. We were willing to pay to park, just to keep from having to walk so far at night, but then they stopped enforcing it and more often than not, our PAID spots were taken by others and nothing was ever done despite our reports. So we stopped paying (with a 'if you can't beat them, join them' mentality) and they singled us out because of it.
I'm not angry, I'm not telling you don t move here, I'm saying there is plenty of downsides to the Meadows. Its up to you if the lower rent is worth them. It's not to us anymore.
Good luck
