Ups and Downs

I love how everyone just writes so strongly about the bad things without having anything to back it up. It makes them seem uneducated and racists. I've been here now for 7 months, just transferred to a two bedroom 6 months into the lease and signed another contract.

In the one bedroom, I loved it. It was big, spacious, the electric was low (didn't run the A/C so that's all on me.) Whenever I had an emergency with maintenance they came that night to fix it. The only thing that took awhile for them to fix was the fire alarm (I mentioned it when I was talking to them about the two bedroom, someone came over that day. The only down fall was that when my fiance didn't move in and I told them to take him off the lease I was still getting charged for 2 residents, for the 4 months there was only on 1 person.

The transfer was a nightmare. The person who helped me move into the 1 bedroom (who no longer works there) was amazing, and she'll be missed...but the staff currently, though helpful, aren't very organized. I went on April 30th to get a two bedroom apartment in the same building, I paid 200 dollars down (half the transfer) and then the 100 dollar deposit. The plan was to move in a month. The lease was written up, my roommate and I were supposed to both me on the lease as 'holders.' I went back on May 21st to see how things were going. My folder was put underneath a bunch of other folders, and maintenance on the apartment I was told I was moving into still wasn't completed. I wasn't allowed to see the apartment because of this, and was really itching to see the place before moving in (had only the 31st to move in, couldn't move any other day.) They said that it wouldn't be ready in time, but the apartment directly beneath it was the same thing, so that would be where we were moving.

On the 31st when I went in to sign the lease we still hadn't seen the apartment, the lease wasn't written up for the new apartment, my roommate was considered an occupant still because he was given the wrong form for his credit check, and we found out that the apartment that we WERE moving into wasn't even cleaned yet. The staff state that they told them 2 weeks ahead of time, the cleaning crew were told THAT day to clean this apartment. On top of all that the deposit was never written down properly, and my money was missing (luckily I still had my receipts.)

I didn't SEE the apartment until 10 minutes before moving into it...and there was little I could do thanks to my circumstances but accept it. I hate this 2 bedroom, with a passion. The living room is the ONLY nice thing, truthfully. The spare bedroom is way too small, the floors (don't ask me how) are slanted in the corner of the apartment, the water pressure is terrible, the pipes squeal whenever I'm in the shower, and the walls were not fixed properly from the last tenant (I don't know how to do it, and I'm pretty sure I could have done a better job.)

They're very unorganized, sweet ladies, but unorganized. Either someone needs to get a better system, or some people need to be trained better.

Other than that I love the area, it's close to things, it's good for the price range (not amazing, but good), the pool feels great in the mornings (they clean it people, calm the hell down if it's not on the same schedule you're on), besides one or two things with the police there hasn't been any problems.

IF you're looking for somewhere that's a roof over your head, has a diverse neighborhood, young/old, hispanic/------- american/white, etc, small, cozy, and close to a bus stop then this is the place for you. If you're looking for an all white community, with no kids, and no hassles, security fences, high end, blah blah blah then move some where else and pay 500 dollars more a month.
