I lived at Promenade from Feb 2008 to March 2009. The general feeling after the stay was 'Anywhere else would have been better'. The main reason was I didn't get my money's value worth. The promenade office guys have just one thing on their mind - How to extract the maximum money from the residents, whether you give the service or not. I was already overcharged in terms of rent ($930 per month for a one year lease). The shocking part was when I requested an extension for another two months, they quoted $1172 per month. I was told that I was lucky to get such an attractively 'low' rent and that If I extended for one month only, the figure would have been much higher. True to form, they charged $75 for something they called 'SODA' cleaning after I moved out. They deducted it from the one month deposit they had extracted from me as I did not have an SSN at the time of move-in. I wonder why they didn't pay any interst on the deposit. On the other hand. they also deducted $22.65 as 'security applied' from this amount, whatever that means.
The maintenance of the area is extremely poor. You just need to take a look at the small pond by the mail room and the poor alligator inside.
When I called the office up complaining over phone that their maintenance (pest control guy) had kept the AC ON and left it that way when we were out of town for 5 days and asked them who will bear the electricity charge for the same, the property manager hung up the phone.
Frankly speaking if you are looking for a place to stay in St. Petersburg, go anywhere EXCEPT Promenade. That's coming straight from my heart. That's the reason why there were 5 apartments in Promenade with my company guys in Feb 2008 and now there are none. All of them have shifted to other places like Camden Lakes.

Agreed. There is no maint. completed on the apartments, compared to The Echelon it looks like a joke. They cater only to new residents offering lower rental prices and then raise your renewal fee stating that its worth it to pay the higher price than move... right.

Well obviously you didn't clean your apartment or you wouldn't have been charged for it. Not sure how maintenance is supposed to take care of an alligator, you do live next to a nature preserve and they are protected. Most apartments communities charge more money for shorter term leases...thats normal. Sounds like they applied part of your security deposit towards your total, that is also normal. Camden Lakes cannot compare to the Promenade...they are a B community and Promenade is an A community. Camden Lakes is 22 years old with no rehabs ever completed. And they charge you if you don't clean too, and they also have higher rents on their month to month rates. I also have never seen the maintenance guys "fixing" any lakes there either. I am sorry you had a poor experience but why would you post online horrible accusations about people that work there when you obviously are just mad that you were chaged for leaving your apartment a mess.
