I?m surprised at all the negativity surrounding this community. Yes, the water pressure does leave something to be desired most of the time. That being said, The Palms has really been a pleasant overall experience for us and we recently renewed our lease. The buildings are only about 6 years old and were just given a fresh coat of paint, so they look very attractive. I agree with the person who said parking passes should be handed out, or at least some sort of Guest Parking Area needs to be established. The apartments themselves are very modern, featuring a nice open kitchen that allows for the food preparer to not be excluded from the conversation in the living area. Apartments come with a microwave and a seperate washer and dryer that are both very efficient. The capicity on the washing machine is impressive. The bedroom closet is HUGE, about the size of my college dorm room. Bathroom has a nice sized tub, A/C is very efficient. A nitpick about the bathroom would be a seperate switch for the light and fan so the loud fan wouldn't always run when you use the bathroom. A patio light would be nice, but isn?t a deal breaker. As for the trash situation, the Palms just started offering trash pickup for $10 a month, right outside the door at specific times. Still, if people took the time to at least attempt to put their bags in the dumpster, instead of piling them up outside it (especially on the weekends), that area wouldn?t be as much of a problem. One great thing about The Palms is the beauty of the community. Very attractively landscaped and well maintained, it really is a pretty neighborhood. As for response time to repairs, I don?t have any complaints and the office staff has been very friendly. Another nice thing is the front office throws parties every couple months or so, usually with wine and food, giving a nice opportunity to meet the neighbors. I know I may sound overly syrupy on this place, but I have lived in some real dumps (Cleary Court in Plantation to name one), and The Palms really has exceeded my expectations for apartment living. There is even a movie theater here that resident?s can rent out. Overall a very good place to live.
