The broken entry gate and fountain should be a clear enough warning to NOT RENT HERE! The Staff here is a useless as can be! They will tell you openly they do NOT WANT TO GET INVOLVED in any neighbor problems! So, I have never called 911 so many times in my life!!!
The walls are paper thin...I have heard my neighbor beat her daughter merciless and complained to the front office only to be told to call the police and county services myself.

We just got a notice today 1/16/05 sayig kids are breaking into cars again and stealing radios, and CD players.

The county has black families living here at a reduced rate to help them out, but by doing this has only caused problems for the residents paying full rate. Whenever a white family moves out a black family moves in!

The walls are paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING from your neighbors place. Sometimes the fights are better than what tv and cable are broadcast.

Certain apartments have loud parties all of the time and complaints have NOT WORKED!

The cold water pressure is next to nothing. A shower is almost a painful daily routine because you have to turn up the hot water so high to get it to come out you are almost getting burned all the time!

A supposed "lightning strike" knocked out the MGT's after hours phone message center, along with the front water fountain, and the TV Meeting room. None of which have been replaced or repaired since the Summer of 2003.

I have had mail stolen here and NOTHING was ever done despite a neighbor seeing who stole it and wanted to help. The MGR said she would handle it and it was never written up or investigated.

The pool area is either clean or gross. It seems to run in cycles. The garbage collection is made by a service that comes to your door and carts off what you leave out. Sometimes they take all of your trash and sometimes they don't. There is door NO TRASH pick up on Friday and Saturday nites. So rotten and smelling trash is out there since Friday afternoon till Sunday night.

The MGT. wanted to smooth-out some of the problems with residents and held meetings. They first scheduled them at 7 PM and got so many problems and angry people showing up that they changed the time to 6 PM with the hopes no one would show up and would still be stuck in traffic. And have not had a meeting for a long time.

An agency is scheduled to spray for bugs once a month. And to date they have done great...there are BUGS EVERYWHERE! What we have all over the place are these nearly microscopic ants!

Hurricane Season in 2004 was a big joke around here! The MGT basically said you are on your own... People either put up their own shutters or hired someone. And some of the silver and rusty shutters are still up today 1/15/05!!!

I once complained about finding broken glass and drops of blood on the stairs and it took 3 personal visits and one visit to the MGR. to get them to clean it up.

I entered a work order to fix a burnt-out light bulb and it took one month to replace it. When it was replaced, the worker broke the burnt-out bulb and left the pile of glass there for everyone to step on!

From time to time the MGT will put up signs saying "THANK YOU FOR PAYING RENT" - like we have a choice or a thank you for the people paying the FULL RENT AMOUNT!!

To help smooth things over from time-to-time, the MGT. will throw a party. The catier they use is the same one and will almost always show up an hour to 2 hours late. The amount of food they bring is no where near enough to feed all of the people who stuck it out.

Living here has shown me my safety, peace of mind, and value for my money do not count. I truly hope I can get out of here this year!

wow...i'm looking to relocate to FL. at this point i am more concerned about PREJUDICISM more than apt. issues. YOU ARE A PROBLEMATIC PERSON...PERIOD! oh..by the way...I AM WHITE! :)

I wonder if this person still lives here? I have lived in more than one apartment community in Florida and I Have had problematic neighbors of all races. This person is just bitter and racist. Note to writer there are still some respectable minorities making and honest living paying all their rent with no government help and are good clean neighbors and I am proud to say I am one of them you cannot judge a whole race of people by a handfull.

I happened to have lived there from 2003 to 2005. I recall the shutter incident and remember neighbors helping each other as they should. Yes the apartment had some problems, but it sounds to me like you need a life, a personality, and a reality check. Just for the record, I am Black, and I can assure you I never received any such discount. You are obviously just a miserable person who has no one to complain to. Hmmm, I wonder why? I hope you have since left the Palms, but not for your sake, for theirs. Jerk
