I lived there just short of 2 years! I broke my lease and got out!
Caution! The parking lots, mailbox, and elevator areas. Hallways, main stairwells and on balcony's, located where the end apartments are of the build and the outer stairways. We have been harassed, violated, threatened, spit on and our car vandalized countless times in those areas at the Boardwalk apartments.
The elevators, either they were stuck in between floors or not working altogether, always reeked of marijuana, and of urine. Having no choice to walk through duck poop to get to the main stairs where we climb over garbage bags, debris of some sort, and teens sitting blocking path. After climbing flights of stairs to reach the designated floor to pull the door to enter the hallway. Expect to get slammed with it as many just run and kick the door from the other side, fly through shoving anyone aside as they all rush past and down the stairs. Having to still walk though the long hallway filled with marijuana smoke or with thick yellow dust every where from kid s earlier deploying fire extinguishers. As we continue on, not home yet! a group walking from the other direction rudely mows throw us! This accrued often.
The buildings fire alarm system would go off all the time. Very, very loud to where tenets had to leave the building until the Fire Department came to shut it off. This was a pass time pulling the fire emergency system 2 or 3 times a week usually around dinner or at bedtimes. I have caught people of all ages urinating just outside of my apartment window.
Entering late weekend s countless times to the outer stairway encountering sexual activity, drug and alcohol use and to a man passed out in his vomit in front of my apartment door!
Late on weekends 3 different occasions. Hearing strange noises from kitchen, as it was someone trying to pry the kitchen window open' Never forget to lock the doors or people will just walk right and help themselves. That is common. I have complained countless times to the Office/Management. I was told to call police. They do nothing. What finalized me breaking the lease' After receiving a call stating that there were 5 teen boy s pounding on the apartment door threading family in side with knives and a gun. Sometimes, I wasn t able to beat the school bus home due to traffic; however; calling the police from cell, I arrived, following the police in while on cell to family. They were in the apartment hiding with cordless phone, helplessly until officers secured the area to gain entry and made visual of the family safety. Those boys were not arrested, slap on the hand and sent off to do this to some other family! "Enough is enough." I couldn t risk our lives there for one more moment!
If you value your life! You would not move there or anywhere near the area.
