My husband and I lived at Azalea Place for 4 years while I was in graduate school. This may seem to imply that we liked it, but mostly it was too much of a hassle to move.

The pros of the complex include large apartments, decent landscaping, a fairly clean pool, and a gym with decent equipment. It ends there. First and foremost, the management changes *completely* about every 6 months. One of the main reasons we chose this complex was the leasing agent, who was friendly, knowledgeable, and intelligent. However, a few months after we moved in, she---and everyone else at the office we had known---was gone. I find it offensive to go into the office after having lived there 3 years and be greeted with, "Do you live here'"

Secondly, the staff at any given time had little consideration for the residents. We had a neighbor upstairs who not only called and reported us for having our TV on at 3 in the afternoon, she had her friends and boyfriend call and claim they were residents. The staff "put a note in our file" (which I know has no legal bearing) because this had gone on "for months" (though it was the first we had heard of it) and "many" of our neighbors were complaining (we talked to several after the fact and not only did no one else admit to having reported us for noise, many didn't even know they had a neighbor on that side).

There were multiple "accounting errors" in which the staff lost the record of our rent payments. Instead of calling us to ask why the rent was late, we just got 3-day eviction notices on our door---even though we had paid in full and on time. Fortunately this never came to a lawsuit.

Our apartment flooded---literally flooded---in the middle of the night because maintenance had failed to install a water heater in a vacant apartment properly, and a hose came loose, flooding all of the first-floor apartments in our block. Fortunately, the complex responded quickly to this and didn't ask us to pay for the damaged floor---but in my opinion, it shouldn't have happened at all.

Wildlife sightings may be a plus in many people's opinions, but aggressive raccoons guarding the trash in the evening is a little dangerous, don't you agree' My husband had several such run-ins with the local raccoon population.

I appreciate a well-tended lawn, but the *daily* lawn service seemed a little over the top, especially since the area outside our apartment frequently had dead limbs, mushrooms, or other debris. This may be a personal issue, but it also annoyed me that the lawn service van blocked about half of the main driveway---*daily*.

Last but far from least, the outrageous security deposit ($500 1 month's rent; $95 plus any pet deposit non-refundable) is still a bone of contention between us and the (new) management, over a month after we moved out. We do not argue any of the charges they took out, but they failed to return to us the one month's rent we paid as a deposit---even though we paid our rent for every month we lived there, including the last month. As I write this, we are waiting for a phone call from management to clear up this "mistake".

It certainly was quiet, and much of the property was quite beautiful. However, I wouldn't recommend this complex to anyone.

I was lucky to be apart of Azalea Place Apartments for the past 3 years and for the entire time I was there, there was the same Manager and mostly the same staff. Not until this summer did the Manager change. The management company has been the same since day one! And just to clear up a few things, "in my opinion", the lawn service is once a week not daily. And I know that the staff works hard to please everyone in the complex. A few bad experience, which could happen anywhere, is not a reason to say you wouldn't recommend this property to anyone. The complex is over 15 years old and it is kept up so well by the maintenance team that you would never even realize that. If you were unhappy with your stay at Azalea Place good luck at some of the other complexes in town.

I lived at Azalea Place for 2.5 years and overall my experience was good. The lawn service was only once a week, usually Wed, not everyday. Although the office staff turnover was somewhat frequent, they were always polite and usually knew who I was whenever I went to the office which was not very often. They also tried to do various activities each month for the residents which was a nice bonus. The maintenance men have all been really nice and reponsive. The grounds are kept up well and the apartments are kept really nice as well.
