Expected a lot more!!!

Azalea Place could have been one of the ideal spots for rental in Tallahassee but several factors took away from this. Don?t be fooled by the woodsy appeal.
RENT: It?s a college town and rental rates are expected to be astronomical but I still expect a bargain for my bucks. The apartments are not furnished and do not come with a W/D in the unit. That is extra and the office may not have enough to furnish you with. There is no on-site facility either.
APARTMENTS: Nice size bedrooms. There are two floor plans for the 2/2. For some reason one of them will be hotter or colder than the other. (In one of the layouts) The bathroom in the master bath has no door on it's entrance. There is however a door that separates the shower/commode from the sink. Fireplace a great extra. Carpet is better than a lot of other places. I really didn't like the doors to the patio, they were "French" doors and being on the first floor that doesn't make you feel safe. Plenty of storage space!
STAFF: For the most part all of the ladies who work in the office are great with the exception of the property manager. We may have gone through three of them while I was there and the last one was a complete witch.
GROUNDS: The area is kept pretty nice. My biggest complaint is the cutting of the grass. The guys who do it have no respect for your automobile. Expect to have grass clippings all over your car or truck.
NEIGHBORHOOD: Relatively friendly neighbors. Mixture of mature college students and professionals. Much better than the apartments located on the WEST side of the city (closer to FSU).
SURROUNDING AREA: 5 minutes from the mall and plenty of restaurants, grocery stores just about everything else. Traffic off of the main street (AP PKWY) can get busy during the afternoons.
SECURITY: No patrolled gate. There are "video-cameras" that supposedly take snapshots of everyone entering and exiting the grounds. Each apartment does have an intrusion alarm (THUMBS UP!). The gates are either broken or up 75% of the time.
PETS: They are allowed. I have no problems with animals but my insurance company did have a problem when someone?s cat scratched the hood of my NEW car and no one wanted to take responsibility.
WEIGHT ROOM/POOL, ETC.: The pool is kept relatively clean. The weight room is filled with outdated equipment and half of it doesn?t work. You?re better off jogging down the street.
ETC: Beware of the pop (soda) machines, you may not receive anything after you deposit your money in it. BE VERY CAREFUL OF YOUR MOVE-IN INSPECTION, they will attempt to charge you for everything. Keep a record of EVERYTHING (especially the work-orders and rent stubs). Pest control is provided (another incentive). The trash compactor is always full, take out your trash as often as you can. Allowing it to pileup may cause you problems later on.
