Problems at Boardwalk - honest review
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 6/2/2006

---The Employees---
The main problem with Boardwalk is the management and the tenants. EVERYONE in the front office is incompetent. One of the prerequisites for working at Boardwalk must be that you have to be a complete idiot. No exceptions, if you work there--you're an idiot.
Being a student-centered apartment complex, the owner/management at Boardwalk try to get away with just about anything they can because they know that students do not have a lot of leverage on any account. I contribute the parking situation (or lack thereof), the non-functioning gate, and the broken promises they write off on us for that reason. Overall, Boardwalk does not give a damn about any of their residents. They only care about your money and it shows. When renewal time rolls around, they try to throw a couple of pool parties to make it seem like the place is worthwhile, but of course, they are only trying to buy you back into their wrath.
--- The Tenants ---
Most of the people who live here are just as annoying as the management. There are people coming and going literally 24hours a day because most of them are lower classmen who are just coming out of high school and don't know how to control themselves. You'll even run into quite a few racists on the property as well. When confronted about some racists problems on the property, BW refuses to confront any of the people.
--- The Parking ---
Horrible visitor parking & mediocre tenant parking at best. Sometimes you will have to park quite a distance away from your building because BW poorly planned their parking lot and decided to stack the buildings together amidst what should have been ample parking. Buildings 1, 2, & 3 seem to be fine with parking.
--- The Apartment ---
Everything in this apartment is CHEAP, but it looks decent enough for students. If you shop around town, you could probably put together all of the furniture a lot cheaper than Boardwalk actually charges to replace it. While the walls aren't paper-thin, you can still hear conversations from other rooms and pray that you don't have girls living above you. I didn't have any problems with maintenance until as of recently I caught one of them trying to steal something from my apartment.
--- Overall ---
While I have enjoyed my time at Boardwalk (because of some of the people I've met), the way this place is run is a serious issue. They've switched management 3 or 4 times since I've been here.
However,if you are considering an alternative to the dorm, this may be a great choice. uWDgQKY3Vkv8FKIsB8Ax
