Poor Management / Lots of Noise Problems

I have lived at Forest Hills for 3 years. When I first moved in the management company was helpful and attended to maintenance needs quickly. Since Booth Properties purchased the complex, however, the office staff could care less if you had a problem. Also, Booth will randomly raise rent under false pretences. I resigned my lease in April, in October I was notified I had to pay the "Water and Sewer" utility bill back to the beginning of the new lease in August. There was no notice prior to the Utility Bill owed notice and no mention of it when I signed the lease. This effectively raised my rent more than fifty dollars a month. Also, many other residents here find it necessary to crank their car audio to rock concert proportions at two in the morning and any other time of day. Definetly look elsewhere before you look here, this is not a pleasant place to live.

You pay what is on the lease you signed - thats it. I don't know how your place works, but I pay water and sewer to the City - the complex has no say in that. And the cost for water/sewer ends up being around $30 a month I think. They can't make you retroactively pay something that they haven't disclosed. I'd ask for proof of where the charges come from and if they refuse to give it, don't pay. Tell them that if they continue to ask for money without giving reason or proof, that you will go to the BBB and housing authority and they can explain the charges to THEM.

Hey douchebag, before you run your mouth you may want to check on some apartment complexes and the way the utilities are handled. I pay water and sewer to Forest Hills and electricity to the city of Tallahassee. Forest Hills pays the water and sewer and bills us back for it. It is true that the complex didn't USED to charge for the water and sewer, it clearly states in my lease that they can if they have to. In this rough economy time I don't blame them absorbing the cost of water and sewer for an entire property can be a hefty price. Even though they did start charging, they lowered the rent rates from $545 to $515 to help us out. I have lived here for 3 years and I love it.
