I lived in PAK for one year. And at the beginning I could not have been happier. But then things started to get weird.

When I first moved in... there was no door on my bathroom. So I called to have it fixed. After about 3 maintenance visits and no door they brought fit... they just stopped showing up and never fixed it. Even when I put in a request. I lived with it.

Then my water heater exploded one day while I was in class (I was attending FSU for graduate school). They had to order a new one. So they had to turn my water off until the new heater came. So for 2 days... if I wanted to shower or use the bathroom I had to walk to the building across from the dumpster (let me tell you that I lived in building A so it was a haul across the property) because it was the only open apartment they had. I ended up staying at a friends house. Then after 2 days when the heater did not come, they gave me an old one from an old apartment. So I did not even get a new heater. And after they did all the work, they made a mess out of my carpet and my porch and NEVER cleaned it up! So I was left with this task.

Then, the ceiling on the outside of the building was molding/ rotting away. So every morning, walking down the steps there was ceiling mess all over the floor.

I could never use the weight room because the code was never the code they told me.

And finally when I moved out. I went to turn in my key and I asked if I needed to fill anything out and they said NO. so I thought that was the end of that. But a month later when I called about my security deposit and when I was going to get it back... they replied that they were about to turn me over to a collection agency because I OWED THEM money and they had mailed me my notice and I never responded. They mailed me the notices to their mailbox address because they never requested I fill out a change of address with them. So they dropped the notices off in my old mailbox knowing I moved out.

And regarding the money I owed them. I had a puppy while I lived there... so she had some accidents. I hired professional carpet cleaners to come and clean my whole apartment when I left to make sure I got my security deposit back . Not only did they take all of my pet deposit ($400) and all of my security deposit (($925) they told me I owed them $300 more just to fix the carpet. So in total I owed them about $1625 to fix the carpet. I called my lawyer... and realized it would be more money to try to sue them then just to pay them. I paid them and then vowed to tell everyone my horror story there... DO NOT MOVE HERE!!

I just happened upon this review while searching for an apartment. My advice to those reading reviews, don't believe EVERYTHING you hear, and to the person who wrote this: You know that big long document that you probably signed when you moved into your apartment? READ IT! It should tell you everything you needed to know regarding your lease agreement, move out instructions, and pet policies. And professional carpet cleaners doesn't mean the carpet was good enough for new renters. I don't have animals and I wouldn't want to live with the remains of yours!

I lived there for 3 years and we had about 6 or 7 manager changes. I never had a light fixture or fan in my second bedroom, so I added a fan. I gave it to the maint. man when I moved out and they tried to charge me for it. All I had was a cap over the outlet which was left in the apartment. I have been a property manager for 5 years, so I know the game. It never got put on my credit because I know how to CYA!!! The carpet looked like crap when I moved in, so the person that replied to this is the manager. Actually...word of mouth is good and bad. Why would someone lie? I have had people post stuf about me because they got mad at me, but what they said was NOT A LIE!! I enjoyed my stay at PAK, but the management never knew what they were doing. We had until the 5th to pay our rent, but they always tried to charge me for a late fee on the 5th. Plus they always tried to charge me for my neighbor's trash. They should have done more research before they accused someone. I used to work there as well. And their cleaning standards are NOT standards at all.

I currently live at PAKs and the management does stink, past and present. I went three months without an airconditioning unit, being told that it was a "seasonal item" and wasn't in their "buget." Well, apparently, when told that paying my rent wasn't in my budget until I had proper living conditions, that's when I received a new air conditioning unit. I've lived for three months without a door on my linen closet. Plus I get notices posted on my door about damage to tree limbs by my children (which weren't even with me the week it occurred) and for loud stereo (which I don't even own a stereo). Horrible place to live and I totally agree with all of the bad reviews on this apartment complex!!!!
