High Utilities

I have lived here for almost a year. The utilities are the most expensive I have ever paid. In the summer it was almost 300 a month and we used the AC as sparingly as we could basically only at night so we could sleep comfortably. During winter we didnt' use the heat much and still it was about 180. We have complained several times about the energy efficiency or there being something wrong with the reader. We went and got blackout curtains and cloth curtains for over the windows to try to cut down on our costs but it maybe only helped about 20 a month. So most of the time we leave the air off to try to keep it under 200 and it's not like we have the tv or the 2 computers running all day so I don't get why it's so high. Guess we aren't the only ones so that makes me feel better some.
The location is great as it's in the Gilchrist Elementary boundaries and the bus pickup is right at the apartment entrance. Gilchrist being an A school is why we chose to live in this part of Tallahassee. I like how we are in a quiet are and lots of trees around. Shops are walking distance.
The apartments look nicer now that they have been painted on the outside, but my what a mess was left behind for quite awhile after. I like the 2 bedroom floorplan.
Parking wise, there is plenty of it, just not always in front of your building which is a tad annoying when you have groceries to take in. I wish we each got one assigned space.
I also wish there was a playground somewhere on the property for the kids as the kids have no where to play but in the parking lot or on the lawn where the dogs poo and their owners don't clean it up.
Also one trash can for the entire place is a bit silly as by Monday when there is trash pickup there are usually bags all around the trash compactor along with furniture that people moving out just chucked there.
When we moved in and did our inspection we let the staff know we had no fire extinguisher as we were suppose to have supplied by them, they never gave us one.

We never got a fire extinguisher either.
Also, be careful, if you have/had any shelving in your bathroom (like above the toilet) check with them before you move out. We had shelving in ours before we moved in but was charged for leaving it behind when we moved out. Ridiculous!
