I?ve been living at Polo?s on Park for the last year and a half, I have had no major complaints with management, yes the walls are paper thin, the garbage disposal is loud as hell, the water pressure sucks and the parking lot is poorly lit. But this past Christmas break I had a major incident with one of the other residents in the apartment complex. Apparently the person that lives in the apartment above me forgot his hunting rifle was loaded and "accidentally" shot it. The bullets went through my bedroom ceiling, into the wall that divides the bedroom and the bathroom and lodge itself in my bathroom floor. Besides the fact that I was in my apartment and scared out of my mind, the Leon County Sheriff?s Department, the City of Tallahassee Police Department, Polos on Park, and its corporate office didn?t think it was anything major. The guy didn?t get arrested, his gun didn?t get confiscated and Polos on Park informed me that although he had fired his shotgun in an occupied apartment building, endangered the life of the residents in the building, and caused major property damage he had not broken his lease agreement and could not be evicted. Though they did offer to allow me to relocate to another apartment in the complex!! After talking to the office manager, they agreed to allow me to stay in my apartment and make the guy upstairs move into a different apartment in the complex, in the meantime the manager is allowing me to stay in the guest apartment. This incident occurred the evening of Dec. 29, it is Jan 12 and I am still waiting for them to fix the major damage to my ceiling, walls, and floors caused by the buck shots and for signs that the guy upstairs is moving. Would I recommend this apartment complex to anyone' All I can say is, if you are moving here find out who the people living around you are, because I doubt the leasing office will inform anyone of the incident.
