I've lived at Polos on Park for 2 years now and I will give you the most honest opinion I can give of this place:
The Apartment: For the most part, my roommate and I have loved the layout of the apartment. The bedrooms are separated by the living room which work out great because you don't hear the other person if you don't want to (I just like my quite). The appliances are pretty good...the oven heats up really quick, which is nice and the washer/dryer and fridge are all good appliances. The only complaint we had was the dishwasher, which is cheep and sometimes took a couple washes to wash our dishes.
Noise: Overall, the apartment complex is very quite. I lived in building 2 and everyone was fairly quite and kept to themselves. However, half of the time we had people living above us and half of the time, no one lived around us. When there were people upstairs, it was a nightmare because you could hear them take every footstep. Although, they were stupid boys who had no consideration for working people (even when we asked them to quit stomping around)....its the risk you take for living in apartments.
Parking: Okay yeah parking does suck if you live in buildings 1-4. But the visitor's parking is 20 ft away and so if you complain that you can't park directly in front of your building, then you should suck it up. I've never been towed and I've never seen anyone be towed. It is kind of rediculous that they rent out parking spots in front of building 4, but whatever.
Now here's where we ran into problems. First, when we moved in, they "cleaned" the carpets but what they really did was use spot cleaner which ended up bleaching the carpet instead. But I ended up having problems with my a/c where it was draining all the condensation water onto the floor in the utility closet because the pipes were blocked up with dust bunnies. It sucked really bad because when I finally discovered it was happening, I needed to dump a bucket of water every two hours. I believe this is where I interacted with "Brian". He wasn't too bad, just a kid who looked like he was straight out of undergrad school with an english degree. He came over every day until the problem was fixed, even while he was cutting up his fingers from digging out the clogged pipe. Otherwise, I adore Gary, he's the nicest guy ever...always helpful.
The second problem is termites. Even though the building looks like it is completely constructed out of concrete, they still manage to house termites. And the management refuses to do anything about it, despite the three times we've notified them. Now, here I must mention that for any other maitenence issue, they've responded fairly quickly, usually the day you notify them, but I would HIGHLY recommend doing it in person. If you actually go down to the office and let the staff know, they'll put in the work order and you can see them doing it. I realize that no management is perfect and we're all busy, so if you be a big boy or girl and take the responsibility of being an apartment renter and take the matters into your own hands, you can get things accomplished. Every time I go into the office or call, they are very nice and polite. HOWEVER, it is extreemely disheartening, annoying, and disgusting that they won't deal with the termites. So take what you will from this.
Now since I haven't moved out of this apartment yet, we'll see what the moving out process is like. I anticipate being charged for stupid things, just like anywhere else in this stupid town, but I only paid $99 for security deposit/move in fee to move in anyway, so I'm not going to get any deposit back anyway. Before I lived here, I lived at Boardwalk Apartments on the other side of town, and this place is like Heaven compared to that dump!
I'm not sure if I would whole heartedly recommend this place...I probably would have had it not been for the termites, but that put a bad taste in my mouth. I do really enjoy the quiet and my room is PERFECT but it seems like you need the luck of the draw and hope nothing goes wrong to fully enjoy this place.

I agree about the layout. Thats about the only thing I liked, but I also had vaulted ceilings so it was nice astheticlly. However I'd rather live in an ugly apartment with polite attentive staff. I was always having issues with the dishwasher and the AC, very similar to yours, but my work orders never fixed the problem. They would just come by and look at it, and say they needed to talk to so-and-so about it, and then nothing happened for weeks, and I would call up and theyd say the work order was cleared, and Im like "they came into my apartment but they didnt fix it. My AC's still broken." This went on till I moved out. For all I know the AC's still broken.
