No student living complex is problem-free

At the Preserve, you pay a little more for more space and a location close to campus. Not to say that my stay has been without problems, it is the same as everywhere. If you don't stick up for yourself, you are going to have a harder time. The squeaky wheel gets the grease at any apartment complex, that's just the way it goes. If you have a maintainance problem, you need to visit the office and calmly talk about it to them every few days until it gets fixed. Who is maintainance going to race out to fix --- the person who came in once (or not at all) and mentioned a problem, or the person who has come in again and still been "worried" (and yes it does help to act very concerned) about their issue' Yes I have had a couple of problems with the Preserve, but if you present your case very logically and calmly, they always take care of it. I would like to see a few more visitor spots, but parking has otherwise never been a problem. The deck is a really nice thing to have....try finding that at many other apartments. As far as the furniture goes, there is very little storage and you can honestly furnish yourself for cheaper than what you are going to pay over the term of your lease to rent their furniture. I would definitely recommend that if you are going to be in Tallahassee for a while to just get cheap furniture from auctions or garage sales or something. The issues with the break ins occured last spring. There were about five, I believe, and those apartments had left their doors unlocked. The main point, and again this goes anywhere, is to keep your doors locked, even if you are just at the pool. Oh, and you will have really high utility bills (at least I have), usually about $300 (split three ways) each month. Overall, I have enjoyed my time at the Preserve (the free tanning makes up for anything), and I have found that the main way to avoid problems is to keep in touch with management, and make sure they know you by name, whether you "like" them or not.
