I actually lived in these apartments twice. I came here in 2005 and stayed for about a year and a half. I didn't have any particular problems with my apartment, but the ladies who ran the office were not pleasant to deal with. Because I work in this neighborhood (Southwood) and my son goes to school here, it was convenient for me to move back in. When I moved back in for my second go around, I researched other places. Some were less expensive, some had amenities that I like (fireplaces, porches), but ultimately I chose Twin Oaks for the convenience and for the green space. The guys who run the office now are awesome, very friendly and work hard to give the apartments a sense of community with BBQ's by the pool, etc. Of course things are going to go wrong. I had a leak in my shower and the maintenance guys had a tough time getting it fixed, but they did and everything was fine. These people who manage and work at the complex did not build it, but they do their best to keep it safe, comfortable and friendly. My young son and I enjoyed our time at Twin Oaks and we only moved out because I bought a home. As a single mother, I felt my son was safe in this neighborhood. We enjoyed using the pool, community room and greenspace. Reading some of the negative reviews on here, I recognize that some people will not be happy wherever they live, whatever their job, how ever much money they have. Happiness is between your ears. Live at Twin Oaks and be safe, enjoy friendly people and be happy if you choose to be happy.
