Wasted Potential...

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2008
Alright, let's start with the good stuff about the Exchange.
1)The grounds are actually nice. Maintenance is actually very good at keeping the place clean. I see someone picking up trash on a near daily basis. The same goes for grass cutting, and the like. Hell, they even power wash the apartment every now and then. This is only irritating when you need to leave your apartment and there's a steady stream of water hitting your front door preventing you from doing so.
2)Safe. I live in the back of the complex (near the basketball courts and projects) and I've never felt unsafe once. I even used to run around the complex, very early in the morning, by myself and never once felt threatened (and I'm a female).
3)Parking. I can always find a spot right in front of my building, even during weekends and nights and the parking lot is generally well lit.
So those are the good points, let's go to the bad ones.
1) Staff. I swear to God these are the most incompetant people walking the face of the earth. I don't know if they were all born with some type of mental retardation or if they're all just that incredibly stupid. Please don't call and ask them any type of question because they don't know ----, but instead of just telling you they don't know the answer they'll just lie to you because THEY DON'T CARE. They treat you like you're an inconvience once you sign your lease. The "new management" is almost as horrible as the old management, almost. They've "lost" my rent payment more than once and having a receipt means absolutely nothing, I don't know why they even bother writing one.
2) Roommates. Okay, I get that this is a student complex BUT...on SEVERAL occasions they have assigned me a roommate with absolutely no knowledge on my part. I come home after work or school and there's just some girl in my apartment with lease papers. They don't even bother calling to notify you that they just given keys to your apartment to someone. And if you do call and ask, they tell you that if someone were moving into your apartment they would leave a notice beforehand. BULL ----! This has happened to me one three seperate occasions. Oh and roommate matching is a joke. Basically they put black people with black people and white people with white people. That's the extent of the matching. No other common denomenators whatsoever.
The tragedy of the exchange is that it is undoubtedly the nicest student housing in Tallahassee by far and could be the best but the staff makes living there unpleasant. I've lived here for three years and I've finally saved up enough money to buy my own house. Come July I'm gone!
Unless you have an unending supply of patience needed to deal with the staff, I'd say skip this one, I'm sure you could find better.
