We warned you...they can change "ownership" as many times as they want but it is still the same nasty section 8 people and druggies. The new "owners" come in every few years, promise to "change things" and the only thing that gets changed are the plants in front of the office...good luck. Lots of houses out here in much better shape and cost than that h@!! hole.

I have been a resident here since February 1st, 1996. When I first moved here, this property was really nice. Things started to go down hill about 3 months after a resident sued the owners (Southstar Equity) for several million dollars and won. The property has been sold 3 times since I moved in. Each new owner fixes up the exterior portions of the property just enough to resell it to a new owner.
The quality of Office Staff (including the property manager) has grown steadily worse with each new owner. The current Office Staff tell you what you want to hear and promptly ignore you immediately afterward.
I called the County Health Department and I have taken pictures with the intention of giving them to ABC Channel 10 to do an investigation.
Between ABC, County Health and Code Enforcement, I don't expect the property to be to pleased with me should they discover who reported them.
I have put up with the empty promises from the property managers for 12 years. There is an end to what I'm willing to put up with, and that end has been reached.
Ashford Place may as well be run by a Slum Lord for the tactics they employ. The property has instituted RUBS (Ratio Utility Billing System) to make the residents pay for a portion of the water bill the City of Tampa charges the property for.
My Lease states that I agree to pay for Metered water usage. But the property is using RUBS. Basically, the property manager tells residents that we are Metered when we are not.
Unoccupied apartments and water leaks are being billed to all existing residents. we are all being billed for water that we are not using.
There is frequently garbage spread out over the property in various quantities and areas. 3 buildings are being restored after they were allowed to sit for 3 months, with backed up sewage soaked into the drywall, from when the swers backed up into them because the office would not allow the maintenace personnel to fixthe plumbing problems that evetually worsened to the point where they backed up into the apartments.
Negligence and Apathy seem to be the quailties looked for to run and maintain this property.
If you want to move here, be prepared to put up with these things and more. As soon as I can, I'm out of here. I am limited by my income ($657 per month) and my background is a factor to my being able to move where-ever I can afford to move, or I would have already left.
Good luck if you move here. I do not recommend it. You will regret it sooner or later.
