Unfortunately, I cannot give BaLaye Apts a good review. The reasons -

1. Non-secure complex. The gates have not operated for most of the time i have lived here. My neighbor moved after a gunman held her up outside of her apartment.
2. Poor quality of residents. They must accept public housing vouchers, because even though some of the residents are very nice, there is a definite straight-from-the-ghetto element that makes it a very unpleasant place to live.
3. AIMCO. After doing some research, the owners of the complex (Apartment Investment & Mgmt Co/AIV/Denver, CO) are considered among the least ethical of all major apartment comlpex operators. Their stock is tanking, so at least it looks like their lack of concern for employees and customers is catching up with them (I know about this after talking to the complex staff - many of the issues here are AIMCO's fault and the on-site management are not allowed to address them).
4. This goes along with #2 - the apartments hve incredibly thin walls and floors. It is bad enough to have coarse, unpleasant people all around you, but to have to listen to them yelling and cursing at each other 24/7 is just not acceptable. For prices of $1000 for a 2-br (oh yeah, it will be much more than you think - additional charges for trash, water, etc are sent monthly, nothing is included).
There's probably more, but you get the picture. Just not a good place to live.

Lol this is too funny. Ghetto?? There is defiantly nothing ghetto here. And when you first move in they do tell you that the water is not inlcuded but the trash is included in that.
