When I first moved into Balaye I was thrilled. It is a gorgeous place with a nice gym, indoor basketball court, pool, and very nice apartments. I was soon to be disappointed. All of the other reviews are very accurate, unfortunately I did not see this site until after I moved in.
BEWARE!!! Make sure you see your apartment before you sign a lease. Their great layout has the stairwells against your bedroom walls. It is not so bad if you are on the second or third floor, but if you are on the first floor facing the parking lot, EVERYONE who lives in all 8 of the apartments above you will be using that stairwell. YOU WILL HEAR EVERY SINGLE FOOTSTEP THEY MAKE ON THE WAY UP AND DOWN, AND ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY MOVE IN/OUT. You will not be able to sleep EVER. It will wake you up in the middle of the night. You will get no rest on a Saturday afternoon.
Besides the noise problem, there are the ocasional silverfish and roaches roaming the apartment. The silverfish really freaked me out because they just look scarry with all of their legs. The neighbors leave their garbage outside, and even after multiple compliants to management, nothing changes. The management sucks. They do not sound concerned when you have a request or complaint. They have given some of my neighbors eviction notices "on accident" and have sloppy record keeping altogether. Just take my word for it... DO NOT MOVE INTO BALAYE APARTMENTS.... LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING.

I AGREE! I moved out of Balaye recently. I moved in alone, or so I thought. I soon came to realize that I was sharing my apartment with MANY roaches! Management says that they are "palmetto bugs", not roaches, and that they can't be treated for. They also said that palmetto bugs are "native" to Florida, so that it's "normal" to see them. Uhhh, yeah right! It doesn't mean I have to live with them! Puh-LEAAASE! Palmetto bugs ARE roaches! If you don't mind sharing your apartment, then move in. But you've been warned. Management couldn't fix the problem. DISGUSTING! Nasty, nasty, nasty... BLAGGH!!!!!
