Well, I moved into 8410 Del Rey Ct in July of 2007. It took a couple of weeks to get the minor things taken care of but the maintenance staff is so incompetent that the work they do, generates more work for them to do. My first big problem was there was no air coming out of the ducts in the master bedroom or master bath. The air was cold in the rooms it was coming out of but I thought the duct was clogged or had come apart. Maintenance made 3 trips to add freon to the system. Needless to say, they burned up the compressor causing me to be without A/C for 3 days in July. We ended up closing vents in other parts of the apartment to get air into the master bedroom.

When we did that, it decreased the flow of air into those other areas and mold began to grow inside the duct work and out onto the vents. Well, it has taken until last week (almost 4 months) to get them to do anything about it. Now they came up and sprayed "Killz" on the vents which does nothing but cover up the problem and don't even address the mold inside the vents.

Other problems' None of the outside lights in the courtyard where all of our apartments face were working, the "exit" lights required for fire safety were not working, both sets of stairs are coming apart at the landings, everytime the humidity goes up there is a interruption of power which tells me there is a short in the main electrical system, the fire alarm goes off for no reason. The fire department has never found a pull station activated which is what sets off those alarms. The last time it went off, it took almost 4 hours to get maintenance to return an "emergency" phone call from me and the fire department to come turn it off.

I have made a complaint to the department of professional regulations where Barfield Bay Properties is licensed through, I have made Tampa code enforcement aware of the problems as well as a couple of the TV stations who like to do things like this. I personally have submitted my notice of termination of lease and will not be there past May. Check the Florida Statues before you go this far but I can't stay there anymore.
