We have lived at Camden Bay for almost 3 years. I hate the valet trash service. You are forced to pay $30 a month on top of your rent for the service. Once our bag ripped when the guy took it out of the can, trash went everywhere and he just left it. On top of it I got a $25 fine from Camden for having the bag break. The water bill is another issue. I pay around $50 a month for water that we do not use. My husband and I each take a shower a day and I run the dishwasher once a week, thats it. There is no way that we use that much water, and when asked to see our monthly water usage no one at Camden can provide it. My biggest problem is the mantaince. Our sliding glass door was broken when we moved in 3 years ago. After calling every week since then they finally fixed the door a few weeks ago. That was 3 years of the door not closing all the way and my TECO bill being high as a result of it. I was notified that they would coming to replace the door less then 24 hours ahead of time. On top of it when they came to fix the door they did not clean up. There was dust all over the apartment (they didn't cover any of the furniture) because they had to install a new door. I have a newborn and had to stay with friends overnight while my husband cleaned up.
Saftey is another reason. Since moving in the gate has been broken 96% of the time. I pay money to live in a gated community. They also changed the gate so that the old passes did not work. I brought mine down to the office to get it replaced almost a year ago. It still doesn't work, and after going down there numerous times the office has no record of my complant. The noise has also gotten worse since we moved in. We live by the main road through the complex. Cars have there music turned up all the way at all hours of the night. People honk there horns late at night for no reason and people speed (over 35 mph)through. My husbands car has been broken into, and the office did not seem to car. And while using the laundry room (before we got our washer/dryer) I went to use the bathroom and when I came back someone had stolen my laundry bag. I know it sounds stupid, but that bag was my father-in-laws bag that he used in the military so it has his name all over it, why would you take it'
Over all I don't feel that I am getting what I pay for.
