If you are looking for an apartment, don't settle for less than what you deserve (even if you're low on dough).

My boyfriend and I were low on money, due to a recent financial situation, and were looking everywhere. When considering these apartments the landlord (which i thought at first was a lady named l**y) was a very sweet person. She said that in order for me to move in she'd except the security deposit in installments and only require my first months rent to move in. Come to find that, when I came to get my key she told me that my lease already started on the day of the rent deposit but I was not ALLOWED to move in until I payed the sec. dep! Needless to say: i didn't really have a place to go b/c I had already left my other apartment.


About a month or so, we started seeing some strange things(besides the "actual" landlord himself in speedos walking around the premises). The landlord (weirdest person ever)was threatening to kill an ex-tennant, with his gun in his hand, ready to draw it . A few nights later we had seen the landld., yet again, with his gun in his hand threatening to shoot a tennant that lives in candlewood 1. They called the cops and the cops said they couldn't do anything unelss he actually shot and HIT them with a bullet!!!!

A few days after, we brought to the attention of the landld. that we needed my boyfriends name on the lease (which he knew of in the beginning & said he needed him to sign a seperate one- the same time i signed mine-however,he kept putting it off) the landlds. response: "I wanted to evaluate him b/c he looks ghetto (reference to his skin color). Before WE took over these apartments there were alot of n!**er$ here and i don't trust em'! Until I fell he's fit to add you're going to pay $50.00 a month extra added to your rent for him to live here. He still has yet too add him and I continue to pay for my boyfriend to live here." At this point I also brought up the infestation of cockroaches....He told me,"You do your own extermination".


Since then, I havn't had that many problems until recent(5-6mo.'s later). Our apartment is full of termites!!!!!!!We lifted the carpet and found the the subfloors are rotted completely. I have begged them to please come fix the problem and they said they'd call the cops if I called them again! They have made no attempt on exterminating the pests (besides having a team that is "under the table" coming in and stirring up the little buggers!! 1 time)and instead deemed me as one. The entire apartments wood frame is full of bugs. They have No maintainence! The DO NOT have a lagit LEASE!! They ARE CONS for your money!!!!

Lets not mention the illegal eviction notices(written by hand) and constant threats of evection if you upset them or contest their ways. The stolen $1500 dollars that came missing from one of the candlewood II apartments tennants, and the un-authorized apartment inspections.



THESE PEOPLE ARE THE new MANAGMENT/OWNERS! As a tennant that has NEVER been late on her bills here: DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!!!!
DO NOT LIVE IN CANDLEWOOD VILLAS II EVER!

I think I had better living conditions when I was in Attica. LOL
