Could not be more unhappy

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
To avoid writing a novel here, let me just touch on the main points. Upon move-in, my apartment looked untouched since the previous resident vacated. Filthy appliances and cabinets, along with a carpet with countless pet stains graced my move-in day. Weeks later my wife came home late at night while I was at work, and could not get into our apartment. Evidently, our locks had been changed that day by some mysterious member of the maintenance staff (the office had no record of the locks being scheduled to be changed, nor any idea which member of the maintenance staff had changed them.) Oddly enough however, the office was able to give my wife new keys to the new locks...how they did this without knowing the locks had been changed is beyond me. Ok, back to the main points. It is a "gated community" with non-functional gates. It is a "breed restricted community" with German Shepards, Pit-Bulls and Rottweilers all over the place (not that I have a problem with this...I feel that the lack of safety one feels in this place more than warrants an aggressive protective dog to be allowed, but when I did so and brought my own German Shepard into my apartment, I received a complaint that he had been barking too loudly one day and if I did not get rid of him immediately I would be evicted. So, I got rid of him. To this day though, I still wonder if the same person who issued the complaint to management is the same one who stole my $1000 patio furniture off of my back porch during broad daylight a few days after I got rid of the dog....hmmm, I wonder...coincidence' If I would have had the dog still, I would also still have my furniture. Lastly, from August until February, I filled out 5 "satisfaction" survey's on AIMCO's website (the owners of Captiva Club). In each survey, I requested a call from AIMCO management to discuss my issues with me. I included my cell phone, office number, and both of my email addresses in each one and asked them to contact me ASAP my any of the 4 means. I heard nothing. Then, in March, I sent another one saying nothing but the following: "I have repeatedly requested to be contacted by AIMCO management concerning my problems at Captiva Club Apartments in Tampa Florida. I have been completely ignored. I wish to terminate my lease. If I am not contacted within 7 business days, I will consider it confirmation that I may do so without termination fees. Thank you and have a nice day." The next day, I received calls from four different AIMCO regional managers...all of whom, by the way, conveniently had "no record" of my four previous attempts that had been sent through the exact same website...funny how the one they DID get was the one that might cost them money, isn't it' This place is a joke all the way from the top...from AIMCO's management right on down to the lock-changing maintenance men. Have fun if you dare sign here!
