Not worth the price of rent

I've been living here for 3 months now and have been regretting it since moving in. The pictures on all of the web sites are very misleading. The fountains thet show in some of the pictures are now only stagnant pools of water. The trees are never groomed, the grass rarely is. The pool is very small, and there is no hot tub like the ads said (it's been removed for more than a year). There is no car wash area either. The mailboxes are located at the back of the complex, so if you live near the beginning, you have to walk all the way around to get your mail.
I moved into an apartment with a broken air conditioner,(and no screens for my windows, which the office staff told me in Florida if you are provided with an air conditioner they don't need to provide screens for the windows) in the middle of the 100 degree summer heat, and they took almost a month to fix it properly. They had 6 month advance notice of our move in, yet the maintenance man, single as in the only one of them that were employed (since then they have one more), was in the apartment as we were moving in still working on the apartment.
Our showers have low water pressure, and as of today, still has not been looked at after several complaints. People from other buildings are constantly camped out in the stairwell, and nothing is done about it. The lights in my stariwell are broken, after dark you can't see the stairs, and still have not been fixed after 2 complaints.
The office staff is completely nasty. After telling them the air conditioner was broken, we were told that a lot of others are broken too and we need to deal with it (in Florida, the AC is considered a necessity by the housing authority) and when we mentioned the shower, we were told that if people stopped putting in multiple work orders, maybe something could get fixed.
The maintenance people are helpful and polite when you're able to get ahold of them, but for a complex of this size there should be more than just 2 people.
There are plenty of other apartmens in the area that are much nicer, gated, better lit in the parking lots. Unless you're really desperate, I would stay away from this complex.
