Dear Readers,
Management at Colonial Village Apartments needed to be removed. The two ladies who manage this complex are unprofessional and rude. In addition, when you come to them with an issue or complaint, you are told they either can't do anything about it or that if you don't like it, you can always leave.
Maintenance personnel are two cordial and generally nice gentlemen. On the other hand, their workmanship is poor and minimal. If they repair something in your apartment, like a leak, be prepared for the leak to appear shortly afterwards. Also, the complex does no spraying for pests on the outside of the buildings.
In terms of upkeep on the premises, I have seen the landscapers that cut the grass, but mainly weeds here. They are probably really cheap to contract with considering their work is just the same. After they are done, they leave areas uncut. On top of that, you would think they don't sharpen and/or replace their blades; you can see the results of this when they cut as well. On the same note, this is not just once or twice, but every time they cut. In addition, they don't pick up any dead branches or huge piles of leaves. They even have the nerve to wash your car with their blowers, as they are blowing dirt, gravel, and grass all over it while doing so.
In regards to saving money where it counts, this complex rates a zero. You can't wash your car, which makes sense considering you are not charged extra for water usage. However, one apartment has a sprinkler system (the assistant manager's apartment) for their garden areas that waste a huge amount of water. Everyone else has to manually water, which is fine. What is not fine is that the little bit of grass left here gets nothing.
On a similar note, if you come here at 9am in the morning, expect to see outside lighting from the complex that does not go off. I am not talking about a light or two, but about whole buildings. Lights that should go on when it starts getting dark come on way before and go off way after daylight comes. Talk about wasting electricity.
On one last note, change is facilitated by doing something about all this. That being said, I am actively taking steps to do such. I have researched county, city and state records. While doing so, I found the name and home address of the owner. She is actually the widow of the gentleman who built both Colonial Village and Georgetown. His name going unsaid here, he was a man who took pride in quality and improvements. Moving forward, the widow is who I am going to about the complex. If anything, my having prior property management expertise, and having turned bad properties around, I think she might listen to what I have to say.
In closing, I have more to say on this complex, but will leave it for another day. Thanks for reading my post and review on Colonial Village Apartments in Tampa, Florida. Have a pleasant day.

WHAT A FINE JOB OF TELLING IT LIKE IT IS! I EVEN HAVE A COUPLE WITH A DOG AND CAT, IN THE APT NEXT TO MINE AND ALTHOUGH IT LETS ITS PRESENCE KNOWN, HE'S STILL THERE. LOTS OF PETS, EVEN THE NEW TENANTS HAVE CATS AND THEY AREN'T ALLOWED.
