It's not bad

We could very well afford to rent higher than we are paying now for a two bedroom apartment($650/month) but we are saving a lot of money for the same amount of space that we would have paid to live some place else. It's not so bad living here at all.I do agree that the grounds need work and would make this place look more attractive and the parking is terrible. Especially when you have guests and your neighbors guest come over and take your only parking spot which can be a major pain. One of my neighbors in our building is always home and I believe has no job and just sits out on their patio all day long and have people constantly coming over to see them on a daily basis and they are very, very loud and noisy coming and going. One of their guests always manages to snag up someone's spot whether anyone is home or not. I don't think they have a car because they always have people giving them rides. They don't allow any dogs at all although I have seen some residents with them anyhow and it doesn't have a gym but it does have a pool. The apartments have no garbage disposals in them. There are no washer and dryers nor hook ups in the apartment but they do have a laundry facility for everyone to use.The maintenanace is very fast. When I had 2 problems with my apartment, they came out immediately the first time about 15-20 minutes after I made the request and the second, later on within that same day. With the money we are saving and it's alot compared to how much we would have been paying if we stayed where we were, we're going to use to save for a house. There are a lot of older, working class people with families that live here and I don't think that it's a dangerous or bad place to live at all. The commumnity here is small and both the apartment manager and the maintenanace people live on sight. What I did before I moved here, was ask 3 different residents how it is living here and no one had anything bad to say. I also came here several nights after work to see how it is and it was very quiet. No people hanging outside in the parking lot or any other suspicious activity going on. I strongly suggest that no matter where you'd like to move that you also do this becuase a leasing agent/manager gets paid to tell you what you want to hear, a resident doesn't and will let you know how it really is. Unfortunately,I didn't do this kind of homework where I lived at before. I wish I did that a long time ago and saved myself coughing up a lot of money equal to a house payment for an apartment. A lot of people say that you get what you pay for and that's usually when you pay for something so cheap and it's just too good to be true and it turns out to be really bad but I'm really getting my monies worth. Don't let the outside apppearance fool you. It's not a bad place to live at all. When we moved in, it was bug free and all of the appliances work and the maintenance did a good job fixing the apartment. I'd recommend this place to anyone but like I said before, they do need to work on the parking and the grounds/paint the building to make it look nicer on the outside.
