I lived at French Quarter Apartments from 2000-2002 and it was a dump. They were always changing management(every 2-3 months) and I kept having problems with them saying that I had not paid my rent when I had. Thank god I always made them make me copies of my check and held on to my payment receipts, otherwise they would charged me for the rent again on atleast 5 different occasions. There was a wanabe thug living next to my apartment on 2 occasions he tried to steal my car. We called the police, but he was a juvenile, so not much was done. The last year I was there(2002)was the worst. My AC unit was completed rusted inside and out and they would not replace it. Water leaked into the livingroom and damaged my $200 entertainment center. It took them 2 week to fix it and they would not pay for the damages. Three months later my toilet broke down and would not flush. It took them 2-3 weeks to fix it. I had to run accross the street to the local Laundry and use there bathroom. Two months later the hot water broke and it took them 2 weeks to fix it. It was dam cold that year and I had to take freezing showers for 2 weeks. The local management was fired while I lived there and I had to pay my rent at Dauphine Apartments. My story only gets worse. The Manager that was working there stole all the rent money and took off. I got a notice saying I had not paid 2 months of rent. Thank god for my receipts otherwise I would have been screwed. I gave them a 60 day notice and cleaned the apartment very well before leaving. Yet they never gave me back my $300 deposit. These guys are owned by jewish people and I think that says it all. STAY AWAY FROM THESE APARTMENTS UNLESS YOU LIKE LIVING IN A TRASHY NEIGHBORHOOD AND DON'T WANT TO GET YOUR DEPOSIT BACK.
