We have lived here for two years and the complex has been purchased by three different companies..that should tell you a lot! The new owner..who is rumored to be A-Rod of the NY Yankees..obviously is more interested in collecting checks than he is about keeping the good tenants here and making this place livable and respectable.
The place has been repainted and the inside of the two and one bedroom apartments have been give a cheap cosmetic over haul..new yellow paint, new cheap carpet..and new closet doors at the most...but the place is still substandard for the money they are asking tenants to pay. They will ask for $720 for a tiny--no storage having two-bedroom apartment and $630 for a one bedroom. The management can't be trusted at all.
My mom lived at the now Newport Pointe Apts. for four years and had a perfect payment record. The new owners told her only weeks before her lease was to expire that she would either have to get out or sign a new lease for a newly renovated apartment..and then move into it...all for the low low price of more than $1,600 in cash up front for the privilege of moving at her expense. The staff consistently gave her different amounts on what her fees and costs would be. In the end..she gave them a $200 deposit when they had no lease prepared for her to sign for two weeks and consistently gave her the run around. She decided to leave and her children found her a house to rent.
A staff member(Tamika or Tomiko) has refused to give her back her $200 deposit..although she has NEVER signed the lease. My Mom moved the day her old lease expired.
There is a serious roach problem here and the staff has the nastiest attitudes I've ever seen as so-called customer service oriented leasing agents. Please DO NOT MOVE HERE if you want stability and value! You will get the run around and will NOT be told up front how much your "additional" deposit fee will be outside of the required $250. Based on your credit..they can give you any amount extra to pay and you will not get this in writing when you sign up! 3mPoZ6gGN6wTPgNi4L2C

I am new in this place and Tameko was my lease agent, she was profession by catering to all my needs. I referred my sister to this company and have everything in writing. They had absolutely no problems with assisting me even when I have to push my move in dates 3 times. I love my apartment..no sign of roaches. Which is a FLORIDA issue!!! it a shame people have to bad mouth good service just because they couldn't cut the cheese. I am pretty sure your mom had every opportunity to follow the rules and didn't. Not every body elses fault..but hers!

Again--If you want a respectable place to live--DO NOT rent at this disgusting complex. Unfortunately, there are many, many, people who have had experiences with "Tamiko" and her nasty attitude but do not have the means, the fortitude or the courage to express their experiences. I have, however, been moved to writer a letter to her superiors to express our disdain with her service. If you're happy with your apartment, more power to you..live there. However, I feel led to tell people the truth so they won't be duped..and so they will get a good return on their investment. So far, during the month we moved, at least eight other residents turned in their keys. That alone speaks volumes! Additinally, a know drug dealer was arrested there after residents called the police and turned him in...two month before we moved, there was a stabbing there as well. Enough said!
