One of the worst run I've come across

Island Walk have recently been doing significant renovations to improve the look of the apartments, both inside and out. While this will improve the apartments themselves (new appliances, etc.), don't let that fool you.

This place is badly laid out. There simply isn't enough parking for each resident. They'll take you around and say as long as you don't mind not being in front of your apartment every night you're fine. Sometimes it's a half mile walk to get back, and most of it unlit, with no sidewalks.

There are a few trash receptacles, but they change them so infrequently that trash is often overflowing.

To top it off, they sent me a letter saying that I'd have to move out at the end of my lease as the building was scheduled for renovation. Fine, I foolishly sign a new lease just changing buildings. A month before the new lease begins, they call saying that apartment won't be available, and they have nothing else until October. This isn't the only time I've heard of them switching apartments at the last minute on people. The office staff don't care about anybody once they've got you paying money.

In short, avoid this place at all costs

Its a shame that so many of you that write in to this web site have no clue as to who makes the decisions on this type of real estate. So, allow me to enlighten you...the OWNER does, not the office staff or employees, the Florida CODE dictates the parking and in order to ADD parking, from what I have seen at this property, it would mean removing a building or two to add additional drive and parking areas...not really feasable I wouldnt think. I suppose they COULD assign every space, but, what happens when your feeble grandma comes to visit and has to park in visitor parking 6 buildings away? something tells me you wont be happy about that either, and, I suppose THAT TOO will be the managers fault?. It truly amazes me as I read these, and many other property reviews that the ONLY people that seem to write are the ones that just want to -----...but from what I see, there is much more to your story that you are letting others know. I just cant imagine that companies hire and maintain staff that are LIARS and CHEATERS and they these managers actually GAIN something--not sure what they would gain---from PICKING on the few of you! I am appauled that you actually THINK the managers control a 75 million dollar property with regard to selling, converting ect. I certainly hope that in your PERFECT business, you never have to deal with folks like you on the other side...something tells me, you probably dont have the patience that these managers do to deal with idiots like you every single day, year after year!

and yes, I live here, and yes, I used to be in the business, so, I know first hand how utterly ignorant most of you are when you write this stuff...lets be real folks....if you have a problem, talk to the manager...if they cant solve it, find out who can...but keep in mind...if YOU bounce a check, its not the offices fault...IF your upstairs neighbors water heater bursts...I really dont think the maitenance staff went up there and poked a hole it it just to flood your apartment...although, some of you actually THINK that!
Give them a break folks....they WORK there...that is their JOB...you may have a JOB too....they dont own the place for cryin out loud! SHEEESH IDIOTS! Its a wonder ANYONE stays in that business with all the abuse they take..getting screamed at (because your husband cheated on you and your in a bad mood) or perhaps you just got fired!...I can certainly see why those young leasing gals would be responsible for that! can you even imagine spending your day being accused of being inconsiderate because someone wants to pay rent on the 8th without a late fee because they had to go on a trip...yup...that one was the managers fault too! ...wouldnt that be just peachy...you IDIOTS run off all the property management folks and guess what...now you have no where to live...dumb asses!
