Gallery at Bayport, formerly Island Walk and Parker's Landing, is a disaster. Now that the construction is slowing down (been here a year and it's one thing after another - pool/ new office/ parking), I guess it's not as bad as some of my neighbors' experiences like flat tires due to construction debris. Just because your tires aren't already popped doesn't mean your car is actually useful. Who would want to leave the pleasant, waterfront (try backyard) views when they could never find a parking spot again' I guess I shouldn't complain. I suppose people - one person, rather - can afford this place and the one, single, non-accommodating parking spot the overpriced rent affords you. Yeah, if you have more than one adult living in one of these condos, you better be sharing a car. "Guest" spots according to Gallery/Island Walk/Parker's, are for the other person who lives with you, like your spouse, girlfriend or mom. I know of one condo that holds three driving adults. Math is simple.

Now that parking has been thoroughly discussed, it's time to make bullets for the rest of this disaster:

One gate is not enough: So, what's with the metal monstrosity in front of the west side Gallery' Is the manned gate not enough'

Fixing things: My dryer broke and two months and 5 scheduled appointments later, I got a new dryer.

Be careful what you ask for: I asked for better lighting, and I get a bright light installed outside my bedroom window.

The people: I got a 4-page note taped to my door going on and on and on about some of the trash some of the residents live amongst. The only problem I have is people's passive-aggressive note-to-windshield approach to communicating with each other.

Would I buy: NO. I'm glad I'm renting and I'm glad I'm on a month-to-month lease.

The traffic: If you haven't seen Memorial Highway and Hillsborough Avenue at 8:00 a.m. and at 5:30 p.m., you haven't seen traffic. Ever.

Recommended: NO

Again, another undeserved rating. It seems all anyone on this site wants to do is complain. Is there nothing about the complex that is good?? It seems Tampa may not be the place for you.

I'm new to the area and want to know the issues I may get involved in. My last lease in Cali was a nightmare and I have certainly learned from that. If you want glamorous pictures uses the official website. Booyah.

If it is as horrible as you state and you are in a month to month, why didn't you leave at the end of your lease? As far as traffic goes? I don't think that is a reason to give an apartment community a bad rating. I understand there were other reasons for your rating, but traffic isn't anything the community has control over. That is something you will have a problem with anywhere you go. I actually drive that same route at the same time and it isn't nearly as bad. Ever been to Miami??? NOW that is traffic! Island Walk is a wonderful place to live and I plan on renewing my lease many times until the market is more stable and I can purchase a home with more confidence.

Well Anonymous, I live there, have lived there for a year now, guess what - I am out of there. It is terrible. No parking, have you seen the trash compactor? Have you seen the cars lined up along Harborside and Harborbluff? Maybe you should just keep on trying to rent apartments to prospective tenants in the office instead of posting on the review boards that are suppose to give prospective renters the truth about these apartment communities. Bottom line - Island Walk is very pretty on the outside but once you get in be prepared for disaster. This place is terrible.
