Originally I had written a fairly positive review of Island Walk. If I hadn't bought a house and needed to stay in an apartment, I probably would have stayed there. I moved out on May 11th, and turned my keys in the same day. I had friends who were there, and receipts from UHaul, TECO and Brighthouse. I received a bill from Island Walk staking claim on my deposit and asking for another $175, claiming that I did not turn my keys in until the 16th and they wanted rent for the other 5 days. Seeing as how I moved out of the area and have never been back, that wasn't even possible. I contacted their management company, who took more than one month to get back to me. Their answer was that the staff said I turned in on the 16th, and that was it. Now, my attorney is preparing my lawsuit. I have proof, witnesses and receipts, and they have the word of one employee who probably stuck my keys in a drawer and forgot about it. Yeah, parking sucks, lighting is bad, and the place is full of dog crap. But this REALLY is robbery, and not giving a ---- about customer satisfaction or their reputation!
