If you haven't been burglarized or criminilized yet you have been lucky! But if you speak to any of the tenants that have lived - at least on the Bayport side - they will tell you how terrible it is. My neighbor had some punks break in his apartment, I had my truck window smashed and it was emptied out, neighbors have complained about people stealing UPS/Fed-Ex packages from their doorstep. It's horrible and I don't feel safe at all.
Also, if you talk to any of the neighbors about the included washer & dryer, they will tell you what a nightmare it is. They are stacked units and I haven't spoken to anyone that has to dry their clothes less than 2 times. You can't use your own washer and dryer. I usually have to dry my clothes 2.5 times (150 minutes). One tenant told me they had to run the dryer 4 times to get them dry.
I just talked to a deputy last night that said this was by far his most visited apartment complex in this area. If you are concerned about safety of yourself, your vehicle, or apartment, find someplace else to live.
Aside from that, if you don't have an upstairs unit plan on buying a storage unit as there is absolutely no closet space outside of your bedroom closet. The bonus room is very nice, but is only available in upstairs units.
The place is very beautiful but underprotected and very unsafe.

The facts you state in your review are completely false. Each bedroom has its own (very large) closet space. The downstairs apartments even have a closet area under the stairs. The washer/dryers are full-sized (I've lived in 3 different unit types myself from the smallest 1BR to two different 2 bedroom styles). There's PLENTY of space in these apartments.

We never had a problem with our washer and dryer, but we did get our $10k gsx 1000 stolen from right in front of the place. I hated it there. It's too over priced for the quality.

This post is for Anonymous. You are crazy if you think that the closets are big and spacious. I live in the Apartments and the closets are not big, actually they are 3 ft by 3 ft maybe 4 ft by 4 ft in one bedroom and in the master bedroom "it" is 10 ft by 2 ft very very small closet space. I have a storage room or "loft" as they call it and since there is not enough room in the apartment it is used for storage. The washer and dryer are terrible. The dryer takes at least 2 to 3 cycles to dry clothes, I am talking underwear, bras and t-shirts not jeans or towels - undergarments, I take heavy items to the laundry mat so I can get them done in once cycle and can get back home. Mold is a big problem in these units, very poor ventilation and air flow. The AC and Heating unit is very poor and cheap. It is housed in the same room as the washer are dryer ??? Yea that is real good, all of the dirt and dust from the washer and dryer going right into the air return. These apartments are dusty and dirty, you have to dust at least three times per week as the ducts are old and out of date. These units are old old old, remember that when renting here. They have taken these units and made the outside pretty but they didn???t do anything with the inside except lay some tile and new carpet, and put some very in expensive appliance in them. Forget about parking. You are not going to have anywhere to park unless you get home at 5 p.m. in the afternoon and unless you work within 2 miles of this apartment community that is NOT going to happen. Plan on staying in that parking spot the rest of the night, once you get a space to park in do not leave, you will loose it and not have anywhere else to park. If you are interested in living there, drive through the community at night around 9 or 10 in the evening. Pull into Harborbluff way near the rentals office, make a left on Harborside Dr and just drive around the property and see what I mean, you will see cars parked all over the road, on the side on the road, double parked in spaces, on top of the mailboxes, and in the grassy areas. Take a look at the garbage compactor, it is always over flowing and people just dump there garbage in the front and leave. I have seen cats, wharf rats and opossums out there at night. There is always loud music coming from the ------- that live there, they drive up and down in their hoopties blasting loud ----------- music, I live at the very back of the community, and I always hear this yelling and music so I know that it is not coming from Longboat. As far as safety, they finally stopped all of the kids from congregating at the front entrance. Wow was that a night mare. My child does not go out after 5 at all. I just do not trust the area and some of the things that have gone on there. I know that there was an attempted rape earlier. There are so many more issues with this place. My lease is up in June and we will be moving to another location, we have been looking and we think that we can go towards Oldsmar. It is a little further as far as a commute but our health, well being, mind and body are worth it.

islandwalker: just a thought...did you LOOK at an apartment before you rented? the floor plans and sizes are also posted on the internet and on the brochures...unless you are a dyslexic blind person, you should have been able to gauge the sizes pretty closely.

Copying and pasting your review across every single response only makes people distrust the validity of your statements. So you had a bad experience? Let it go and move on!

I'd like to add that we will be staying here for another year. They are definitely the most beautiful apartments in the area, I just wish they would make use of the gate. I don't know if it's because they are afraid that tenants would complain about having to use 2 gates to get home, but seriously... I have never been so worried about security here. I caught another couple having sex back by the dumpsters where we live a couple nights ago.
The washer & dryers continue to be a nuisance and are a big waste of energy. One thing we are experiencing now that it's summer is the inefficient AC units. I have to keep it set on 78 on hot days otherwise the AC will never shut off. Maint. has been out a few times (which they are very responsive by the way) but simply attribute it to vaulted ceilings. My unit is very shaded and the air coming out of the vents is at 64*.
Other than the security, washer/dryers, and AC, this is probably the best place we could be living right now. The pool is like a hotel resort pool and the grounds are amazing.
