We have now lived here a year and just signed a new lease last month. I have lived in apartments almost 20 years now, and this is, by far, my favorite. Maintenance is incredible and you can put requests in and pay your rent online with no hassle. I have requested maintenance several times and they have usually responded in a matter of hours for even trivial things. It would take months to get anything fixed at my last place. The grounds are kept immaculate, though it is a VERY dog friendly neighborhood and some neighbors don't always take advantage of the pet "sanitary stations" next to every building. The neighborhood also has a dog park down the block where you can let your dogs run and play safely off the leash. There are gas grills by the pool.
I have used the gym a few times and all the equipment seemed new to me so I don't know what the other person was complaining about. It's also surrounded on 2 sides by canals (1 fresh, 1 saltwater) and each has a nice boardwalk along the entire length, great for boaters. I keep my kayak out there and it's a great place to do some paddling with access to the Bay. Everything was brand new when we moved in since they recently finished remodeling all the buildings. My favorite thing is the stone tile floors so the only carpet to worry about is in the bedrooms. Parking isn't perfect and you might have to walk an extra 30 yards if you come home late though I don't see the big deal with that. Overall, I really can't complain about anything.
I've never seen a bug in my apartment, surprisingly, though it is on an island in Florida so you have to expect the occasional Palmetto Bug no matter where you live around here. The office staff is always friendly and there's always free popcorn near the movie room. Tons of wildlife, ducks, squirrels, soft-shell turtles in the ponds and more birds than I can identify. There is a really cool pond with a little island in the middle over across the street which I'm not even sure everyone knows about. Perfect place to grill out, read, feed the ducks or whatever. Anyway, yes, I'm a real person. No, I have nothing to do with the management. I simply can't say enough good things about this place. It might not be paradise, but it's the closest I've ever come to living there.
