Everything has been great here overall. My review is lengthy but meant to help. I know how it is to search through countless apartments and that's what I did before moving here. I'm reasonable but picky.

I looked at a few Camden places, Sweetwater, Brigeview, West park village, Post Rocky Point, Citrus falls, and probablly more. The only way you will find a better apartment in this area is if you are at a higher pricepoint to where you can afford true luxury.

I love the option to pay rent and make service requests online. I haven't handwritten a rent or water check in over a year. Good location in a gated neighborhood. Very close to the airport, beaches, malls, downtown and interstate. I don't hear my neighbors, feel safe and enjoy the amenities like the pool and 24 hour fitness center. I also like the updated kitchen, tile floors, and washer/dryer.

It is so important to feel safe and secure at home, especially as a single female. I have never felt unsafe here even when walking from my car after work at 4am. Know what the "ghetto bird" is' Well you don't have to worry about it circling directly outside your apartment to the point where you can see the spotlights shining into the window. (yes I speak from experience)

Maintenance requests have been met within one or two days which is impressive. I've lived in 2 other apartments in the last 10 years, and Island Walk is superior on every level. We did have our fridge go out. But I have no complaints in the way it was handled. I submitted a request online and the problem was resolved the very next morning.

The office staff is helpful and responsive. The only negative interaction I've had was one when I first moved in, and it was with a person in the office who is no longer there. Just don't pay your rent late, because the fees are very high. One mistake in this category and I learned my lesson. Another slightly irritating thing is the gigantic trash compactor they built in a place that could have been used for additional parking in an area that could use it.

If you're concerned about parking, I'd suggest driving around the property and checking out the parking near the buildings you'd possibly move into. My old building, which is near the leasing office and faces Longboat, has plenty of extra parking. But other areas in the complex are rediculously tight.

I liked this place enough to relocate to a 2 bedroom after I got a roomie. We have a wonderful water view and still never hear our neighbors. No apartment complex is perfect, but I'm happy.





Anyone who is apartment searching should read my reviews for my 2 previous apartments- Coopers pond and Reflections of Carrollwood. (lincoln oaks). I have had some bad experiences with both places, so being here is appreciated that much more since I have something to compare it to.

Amy, I agree with you 100%, this is the most beautiful place i've seen around here, it's safe, modern interior with ceramic or wood floors, which is great, only the bd are carpeted, great wildlife, wonderful management who respond immediately and are friendly, i live in a 1 bd and i love to cook, the kitchens here are a cook's dream! Huge, lots of counters/pantry, even extra storage under the stairs in the lower floor & a bonus room in the upstairs floor, which can be an office. I don't know what anybody has to complain about this place, yes, the backside does seem to have problems with parking, but i also live near the clubhouse, on longboat, and I never, have any parking problems. I would live here for the rest of my life. I've ckd other places, and NOTHING, COMPARES TO THIS, that i have found, for the price,

thanks Annette- I think any reasonable person would agree with me. Our fridge went out, so perhaps an unreasonable person would freak out about that. But I submitted a service request online and the problem was resolved the very next day. If anyone cares to consider truly unacceptable, bad things that happen in apartment complexes...read my reviews for my previous apartments- lincoln oaks/reflections of carrollwood and coopers pond.
