I have lived in Legend Oaks for 4 months now and it is clean to me. The only dirty-ness that I have seen is the dumpster because it is almost always overflowing, but it's not my job to clean it up, so I put my bags sort of near it instead of breathing in rotting air and someone else gets to throw the bags in. As far as the apartment itself, it is clean. I have seen maybe 3 or 4 little tiny spiders, but no roaches. Some people do play music on a saturday afternoon, but there has only been a couple days where it was annoying me. This community has a lot of kids and the moms walk them out front every morning to the bus, which is nice- my parents never did that for me when I was growing up. The gate has not worked since I got here and they told me when I moved in in September that it would be fixed the following week-- not so much. Parking is fair. The ones closest to the building are always being fighted for, but I am bever kicked out of my own parking lot in front of my building and my friends always have a parking spot as well. The management seems fine from my point of view. I have read other reviews that they only help white people, and I am white; however, I have not witnessed this issue. When I have asked for something to be fixed, it was fixed. The painter man is very polite. It is close to the hospital and you hear a lot of sirens all the time, but I don't mind it because I work there and those people could be my patients the next day. This place is nice also b/c they offer a 3% discount on your rent if you are a St Jo's employee and wave the app. fee. I have not seen anyone doing drugs or any wild drinking parties, so that's good. I do live in the front of the complex and it may be different in the back- I don't know. Overall, I think it is a pleasant place to live and it is one of the cheapest places in Tampa that is decent.

Please take a look at the second pool and the spa they say works and hasn't since we moved here. This hasn't worked in (I was told years). Yes the back is different from the front, in the pool area they show you compaired to the one in back that is nasty. They won't even open the bathrooms so people pee in the bushes. I didn't write anything about the white people thing here but don't try to talk to some of the guys who do repairs unless you speak spanish cause they don't understand any english. I don't have any bugs, I let the bug men in all the time to make sure. I also have electronic bug controller in my apartment. That trash compactor is not accessible to anyone and is awful and has been since they put it in. There were dumpsters all over before so it wasn't a problem. They keep it nice in front because thats what everyone sees. Thats how they rent to everyone by only showing what is really good here. But really, ask when the spa will be fixed. Anyway, you will never see the gate fixed and working. What about the big drug bust with the car that went thru the fence last week, you don't see the big hole? Take a walk around the complex and see for yourself about the broken rain gutters all over and rotted wood everywhere. The nasty landscaping except in front. Try going at night and see that there is only one light at the rear pool that works all the rest are missing or broken and some of the lights on the buildings don't work, so the theives have a field day back in back where the gate on the side is broken and they just walk in anyway. We have had stuff stolen off our cars, and there are many people who just can't wait till their lease is up. I have seen people move in on Friday and move out the next week. One guy just moved out after three months because his truck mirrors were stolen and he and his son didn't feel safe.

well to be honest, I didn't even know that we had a second pool, because like you said, they only show us the front half and I happened to rent out one in the front half. As for the hole in the gate, yes I do see it, but I was out of town and never heard the story. Did they at least catch the person?? I would hope so since they did a great deal of damage. I do like the fact that we have a security gaurd, toom but I doubt he is scheduled to work every single night. I wish we had more dumpsters, too.

That is not a Gate that is a wrought iron fence..the police chased a car thief literally through the fence almost destroying a 30 year old classic car...

Another drug bust yesterday, three cop cars and we heard it was someone related to one of the maintenance men. The guy lives here. And it's not his first time. I don't get it? This place is really going downhill and I can't wait to move. I don't want to tell them anything in the office about what I hear because I don't want to get kicked out too. No one wants to get involved here with nothing because I just found out that the city is going after them for the compactor problems and they are really mad in the office. This is what I heard from another tenant. The word is the people who tried to fix the problems with the compactor are the ones who use to clean the second pool area and they didn't even tell me about that. The ones who do help get kicked out the ones who use drugs stay. What's with that? Wow I am really starting to freak out now. I have six more months left on my lease and wish I didn't. I need my lock changed cause my key won't work right and it looks like someone tried to break into my apartment when I was at work. The lock is all scratched up and looks like it to me. I think I need to get a dog or something...maybe an alarm on the door knob. I just hate to ask for anything to get fixed here.

I am moving the end of the month and am happy to do so. I tried to make it a good place to live but no one here cares to help. They just run away. They move in and out faster than anyone realizes. Everyone hates the compactor issue. I found a new place for almost the same money and it has 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths and it's a townhome. Much nicer people and the office staff lives onsite, so they have to live there too. That to me is very important. If you live and work in the same place then you will make sure it is safe and nice.
