I've lived here for a year and a half. It's an ok place to live. The office staff is nice and easy to deal with. Catheryn, the person in charge of the finances, is very easy to deal with and understanding.

The apartments are not very well built. The floors creek when I walk up the stairs and the bathroom floors are uneven, so the grouting is all cracked and crooked. The insulation also sucks. I can literally feel a 10-15 degree difference in temperature when I walk upstairs. There is also a pest problem. Silverfish are the worst. We've had several pest control treatments and they still will not go away.

The community is pretty quiet, but I am also not facing Publix or Countryway. Parking is tough to find if you do not have a garage. The people with garages seem to not want to use them, so they take the parking in the lots and the people without a garage are forced to park elsewhere. The water is also very bad in this community. If you choose to live here, plan on using bottled water and buying ice. If I don't clean the sinks, toilets, and bathtubs every 2 days or so, there are nasty, redish brown stains left all over the place that are tough to get rid of. The water tastes so bad that I will not even use the ice from the (filtered) icemaker in the fridge.

Also, the gates do not usually work and are constantly left open. Usually about 2 days after the gates get fixed, the repo truck comes by, shoves the gate open (yes' I've seen this happen), and then the gates are broken again for another couple of months. The left side gate is broken more often than the right side gate.

Overall, it is a decent place to live. When I do need pest control or maitenance, they are very quick to send someone out. The grounds are kept pretty neat and clean (except near the trash compactor). The gym is pretty good and is open late. The business center has 3 computers with high-speed internet service, but don't count on trying to look at PDF files or anything. The software blocker won't allow it. There are 2 pools and they are maintained pretty well, I guess. Sometime last year the hot tub at the 2nd pool was roped off with caution tape. Not sure if they were doing maitenance or if there was a health issue. There is a pretty nice playground for the kids with new equipment and sand, but there are no chairs or benches for adults to sit down and watch their kids. There is a sand volleyball court, but the area around it is used more for a dog park than anything, so it is hard to get to the volleyball court without stepping in doggie doo.

I got a pretty decent deal when I moved in, but if I had not gotten a deal I would not have moved here. I would not move in paying market rent. After my first lease was up, I was bumped up to market rent, but chose to stay because I didn't want the hassle of moving. My lease is up in summer and I will be moving this time.

I live in a townhouse cluster close to the clubhouse. The owner of a black Acura was allowed to keep his disabled vehicle on the premises for over five months. I complained to staff members who did absolutely nothing! Zilch! Kaput!

I am a disabled senior citizen who would very much rather that space closest to the door remain open.

Whoever said the staff was good at screening tenants was feeding you a load a baloney. Mr. Acura and his wife, both thirty-something-years-of age living with parents occupy a townhouse unit with a garage. Parking spaces are scare because multiple families are leasing and sharing the townhouse units.

During my seven years at Lexington Oaks, I have noticed a number of tenants do what this fella does to save money. It's just not fair to all of us other residents. I am told Lexington Oaks is the only complex that offers townhouses for rent. When you have 4-6 adults living in a townhouse each owning a vehicle, there is bound to be a shortage of parking spaces. The staff just turns a blind eye when informed of the situation.
