Out of the 30 years I have rented, I have never been as unhappy living at and dealing with the management staff at Lighthouse Bay Apartment Homes. I wish I would have done my research before signing the lease. In a hurry to find a place I drove past the property and stopped in. The staff was very friendly. Although the place looked run-down, the price was too good to pass up. The staff convinced me that the reason the property was in such poor shape was that they were going to go condo, but the buyer backed out. Therefore, they stopped with the up-keep and repairs as the "new" buyers of the property were going to remodel the entire place. This was completely fabricated as I soon found out. Upon moving into the apartment, things started to break, etc. I informed the management and the said they would get to it right away. Nothing was ever done. After months of lamenting, the staff became vicious and very uncooperative. Then, someone was murdered on the property! Yes, I said MURDERED! I wanted to move as I feared for my life. They would not let me break the lease and told me to o et a lawyer.

Further reasons not to live here; property is infested with rats and the such, my neighbor and I, each experienced a burglary and the management refused to do anything about it blaming us for not having insurance, multiple vehicle break-ins, and two days without water on three seperate occations without warning.

Case in point, do not live here. It was a nightmare!

With respects to this review the remodeling is underway and moving at a pretty quick pace. The murder, as i understand it, involved a person that had ben involved with some shady people and he was taken from his apartment, taken off property and killed. I have never seen the rats although i am sure the little buggers are hiding somewhere if the poster saw them. The first water line break lasted a day and a half and was the result of a water line breaking underground. It was hot fixed and then a more lasting repair was made at a later date which killed the water for a day and the residents were given notices on thier doors 2 days ahead of time. The Third one was the city working on the water line and many people in the area were affected besides just Lighthouse bay with only 1 day notice which we were informed of. Stuff does break and I have needed repairs but they have always been timely even on sunday nights. (AC went out during summer) As for burglary, I have not experienced any in the 4 years I have lived here but know that it has occured. Just bad luck for some people I guess. All in all I like living here and the price is pretty good considering it is south Tampa. Incase anyone was wondering I do not work for lighthouse bay. I am only a resident.

No one was murdered here or taken from the apts and then killed . A residents ex-husband was being sought after by a "bad guy" . He came here looking for him . The bad guy did find the ex-husband some where else and shot him in the leg. That's what happened.
