Overall the Links is a nice place to live, close to everything but not on a main hwy. It is very quite, and in an excellent school district. I have lived at the Links for going on 3 years now and I must say I haven't had any problems until just since Jan. The property manager is great, However the assistant mang. is a real pain I try to avoid her if at all possible. Like the other writter I too signed a 14month lease instead of the 12month. I had the same problem. Back and forth with the office. The Assistant Mang. was totally rude and left very nasty messages on my door and work phone every month from March untill June. Every month the samething we can't except your rent blah blah blah you have under paid again. Then I would have to call her back and argue with her that my lease wasn't up yet. That phone call would usually last at least 10min. She would never say she was sorry even though it was her mistake and she wouldn't remember the next month either. At this point I have no idea how much I pay for rent I have to call the office every month to find out.
The buildings are old. I painted a wall and you can see that the dry wall looks as though it is going to fall right off the wall. Amazing what white paint can hide. I called for a work order for my a/c it wasn't working well at all I couldn't even feel it blowing and It was at 85degrees every evening when I got home and the lowest it would get to in the morning when I woke up was 80degrees. When I asked the office to send someone to look at it they told me it was pretty much normal to have a $350.00 electric bill and basicaly that was the price to pay to live in a second story loft with skylights. They did send someone he came in and told me that the coils were dirty and he would be back to clean them the next morning. No one ever came back. 2 weeks after that, I just couldn't stand the heat anymore. I cleaned the coils myself. Let me tell it took me three hours and 2 bottles of coil cleaner to get those things clean. I don't think that they had ever been cleaned be for. It was so gross and that was the air that I was breathing. Eww
But now I must say my a/c works great. Amazing that it wasn't just because I lived in a second story loft. About three weeks ago now for some reason someone replaced the door to my patio storage closest they broke my chair climbing over the patio(muddy foot prints gave it away), left the old door on my porch (yes it is still there), and did not put a door knob on the new door. I just don't understand.
The best has yet to come this week painting has begun. It was suppose to begin in July I received several notices on my door that It would so I had all my patio furniture in my dining room since then until last week. Now they start painting. But the painters are doing a horrible job painting over everything thumb tacks and all. And they were painting on my back porch last night until almost 7:30pm. No big deal except for the fact that the W/D are out there. Oh well. Latley the pool has been closed often and the dumpster is always overfilled.
I have never had a problem with parking. Up until just recently if ever I had a problem it was taken care of right away. The complex is small compared to most, I like that. I have great neighbors. And there are always people outside walking their dogs, playing basketball, riding bikes its nice. Like I said before its very quite. And there are alot of big aggresive breed dogs. I don't mind that I am outside often with my dog and I have yet to see a bad behaved dog. I use to love living here but I am not sure any more. Its not the worst place to live I have friends that have lived in apartments all over tampa, And it seems to be better than most in the area.
