I have lived in Lofton Place for two years and it has been a good experience. When I rent from a place, I do not expect perfection. I expect a descent/responsive management staff. Check. I expect to feel safe. Check. I expect important things that break down to be taken care of in 24-48 hours. Check. I expect things to be clean and look clean. Check (with one exception below).

For reference, I live near the front of the complex. However I drive and walk around the back of the complex a couple times a week. I ocassionally see kids hanging out and sometimes they're loud but nothing I would consider a "gang". Also, I have ocassionally had noisy neighbors. I believe this to be a product of apartment living, in general.

I have heard about a car or two being broken into in the last couple of years. I also heard about one burglarly during the day - I know about it because the management staff put up a notice explaining what had happened and warning people to make sure their patios were secure as this is how the burglar got in. I think this level of crime is pretty normal.

The only cons I have had:
*The rates have been going up pretty sharply year to year.
*They have one trash bin in the complex which can be kind of a pain and it can get messy back there. Recently I decided to pay $10 a month to a service that picks up trash - which is a great investment IMHO.
*There are a lot of folks moving in and out lately (last six months) - that could be the housing market, though, as the property has stayed the same.
*They started charging "pet rent" six months ago which I think is insane.

For the price they charge it should be almost perfect....they are only a few dollars cheaper than a really upper class apt complex with security and gates that work.....and apts that are clean, and problems that are fixed not covered up, and people that answer the tel when you call not hide in the office.
