Yes, a dead body was found floating in the lake. A very loud fight happened on Christmas day between two black men. They broke bottles and there still is glass all over the sidewalk in front of that building. My fiance and I watched the whole thing from our window. I called the Mallory Square "security" number but no one answered, no surprise there. Was just about to call the cops when the fight broke up. I didn't think anything of it until I heard the body found was that of a black male.
That said, 80% of the streetlights on the property have burned out and not been replaced. I have been calling for 3 months asking them to please fix the lights, and every time I call they tell me that they put in a maintenance request. One by one, the lights keep dying and it is pitch black in several areas when I walk my dog in the morning, and when I walk from my car after work. I bought mace but I am still terrified. Finally I physically went to the office to talk to the manager about it. She said they have rented a lift and the lights should be fixed by mid-January (we'll see). I pointed out that it was a huge liability for them, if "something" were to happen, the property is NOT properly lit. Little did I know that 1 week later a dead body would turn up in the lake. Makes you wonder what may or may not have happened to that man if the parking lots weren't completely dark.
If all of this wasn't bad enough, I also found on the internet that a two-time sexual offender lives in a building on Casa Marina Way. So I continue to clutch my mace in the dark and count down the days until my lease is up. If they do not fix the streetlights by the end of this month we will break our lease early, its not worth it to feel so scared.

I'm a resident here at Mallory Square Apartments and it's unfortunate that this happened at our community, but it could have happened any where, after researching the incident I found out that the guy didn???t reside here he was just hanging out occasionally. It was an accident and has been blown completely out of proportion. The staff has been nothing but nice and I love my apartment???.. I will recommend this place to my love ones.
