PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE THAT I'VE MADE. DO NOT AND I STRESS DO NOT SIGN A LEASE AT MALLORY SQUARE APARTMENTS. YOU'LL SOON REGRET IT I PROMISE YOU. YOU'LL HAVE TO PAY THROUGH THE NOSE TO GET OUT OF IT EARLY!
THE COMMUNITY: IT'S FILTHY. I CONTACTED THE RENTAL OFFICE- SPOKE WITH AN ASSISTANT MANAGER AND WAS TOLD THAT IF I FEEL THAT STRONGLY ABOUT THE SITE OF THE COMMUNITY THAT I SHOULD GO OUT AND PICK THE TRASH UP MYSELF!
ATMOSPHERE: ONCE IT TURNS DARK OUTSIDE, IT'S NOT SAFE TO WALK AROUND BECAUSE THE STREET LIGHTS DON'T WORK IN AREAS OF THE COMMUNITY. WHAT WITH THE GATES NOT WORKING AND ALWAYS IN THE OPEN POSITION; A SECURITY GUARD ON PROPERTY ONLY ON FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHTS; GROUPS OF KIDS/YOUNG ADULTS(GANGS) WALKING OR DRIVING IN AND AROUND THE COMMUNITY AT ALL HOURS OF THE NIGHT...IT'S JUST NOT SAFE. WHEN I FIRST CAME TO LIVE AT MALLORY SQUARE THE ATMOSPHERE WAS OF A PROFESSIONAL NATURE. NOW, THERE ARE TIMES THAT I FEEL LIKE I LIVE IN SUBSIDIZED HOUSING. IT'S JUST LOVELY TO LOOK OUT OF YOUR WINDOW AND SEE WHAT LOOKS LIKE A GANG WALKING DOWN THE STREET... JUST LOVELY.
PARKING: IT'S A DISASTER, LITERALLY A NIGHTMARE!
BUILDING CONSTRUCTION: THE BUILDINGS ARE MADE OUT OF 100% WOOD. THERE IS NO CONCRETE BETWEEN THE UNITS. THEREFORE THE NOISE IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. YOU CAN HEAR THROUGH THE WALLS; ABOVE AND BELOW YOUR UNIT. COOKING ODORS COME THRU AS WELL- DOESN'T THIS SOUND LIKE A VENTILATION CODE VIOLATION' WHEN TENTANTS WALK UP AND DOWN THE STAIRS YOUR WALLS SHAKE. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES THAT I'VE HAD TO REMOVE THE PICTURES OFF OF MY WALLS IN FEAR OF BREAKAGE.
WARNING: IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO MOVE IN.. PLEASE JUST RETHINK YOUR DECISION.

Pictures don't lie, I have seen this before. I do have to agree with the subsidized housing comment. You put it nicely...
We thought we were paying a higher rent so we didn't have to live like this. When the office started with all the move in deals, all the lower income type people moved in.
It used to be a very clean pretty place, now I am afraid to go out at night here.

I have to dispagree with the previous two comments. I have lived here for two and a half yesrs. I have no issues with anything at Mallory Square Apartments. I walk around the complex at night almost on a daily basis. I am definetly resigning when my lease is up. I have family in the area who all compliment my complex and they have all lived in other apartments complexes prior to living in houses and tell me they wish Mallory Square was open when they were renting. I never hear anything from the surrounding apartments and definetly never smell food through the walls. I do reccomend Mallory square to everyone.

Totally agree with the OP. The trash is out of control. There is one receptical for ALL of the residents. There is a certain gang element as well. It is frightening at times. More often than not, out back, near the tennis courts, the lights don't work and that is EXTREMELY unsafe.

This post looks very familar. The employees need to stop making bogus posts on this website. This website was designed so that people that are apartment hunting can view other peoples experiences before moving somewhere. I have checked this website for every apartment community that I have looked at and it helps to see what people have to say. I just wished that when I moved to Mallory Square that this community wasn't so new because moving to Mallory Square was a big mistake and I am so glad I am no longer have to deal with this community.

unhappytenant - your post is right on the money! every single word is the absolute truth! the apartments themselves are nice and that is were it stops. EVERYTHING else sucks! the "element" you mentioned is the worst part of, to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unhappytenant...I wish you'd put your email address in this post. there is NO LEASE that ironclad. All of you residents need to get together and get an attorney. One letter from a lawyer saying you're not giving them the rent until things are fixed or that you're LEGALLY breaking your lease, I BET that place would clean up real quick! CALL A LAWYER!
I also think it's chicken ---- of management to post anonymously, when there is an option for them to post responses.
I say to everyone who posts on this site. Get a user name. If you're telling the truth, you got no reason to hide.
Unhappy, I say again....GET A LAWYER!!!

I am just happy to be moving in 3 months. Anytime a dead body shows up in the pond, dogs are allowed to crap every damn where, kids are allowed to congregate at all hours of the night, security gates never close, and anyone is allowed to access the property and its "amenities" it is definitely time to go. I can not deal with garbage overflow, lack of parking and constant noise from garage doors opening, neighbors stomping on their floors, slamming their doors, or just general noises constantly. I am interested to see what bills I will incur when I finally leave this place. I am sure I won't get my deposit back, even if I left the place immaculate. Oh we won't even talk about the roaches and rodents... Ewww
