Not as nice as you might think...

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I moved into Mallory in the fall of 2006. I rented a brand new apartment, never before lived in. So... everything should be ok, right' Wrong. The AC didn't work for a while. I could hear my neighbors TALKING normally through the walls, and the parking is HORRIBLE. 5-6 nights a week I had to park at the far left of the complex (about 3-4 buildings away) because 4 three-story buildings shared about 20 parking spots directly in between them. And when my banister in my kitchen blew out it took the maintenance people .... 9 DAYS to come fix it. I went by everyday to remind them. Still 9 DAYS with no kitchen light, but once they came they did fix it correctly. Also, the construction there was so rushed, the apartments quality was compromised: The pantry door wouldn't close because the frame was cut uneven, the banisters between the foyer and the kitchen had saw marks (in the form of a tic-tac-toe board) in it, my toilet paper holder fell off of the wall, the shower doors wouldn't move easily, the floor was actually uneven (third floor apt), the ceiling had a crack in it and the wall in the foyer had a HUGE crack going from floor to ceiling in it. I am not kidding. My manager also lives there, and when I went over she showed me how her cabinets doing touch and how there's a gap in between two of her walls (just not connected in the corner... can see into the wall for about 2 cm's). Now.. this would be acceptable for under $500/month. But for close to (or over) a $1000/month... (and for a new complex) NO WAY!
Don't move here. They look fancy and new, but the construction is cheap, slow maintenance, no parking and thin walls.
Now as for the body found in the lake, I'm not going to blame that on the complex it's self. It would help if the gates were closed and they were more upkept... wouldn't attract the wrong kind of people.
