Unsafe and overpriced

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008
My issue is simple, all human beings expect quality when paying high dollar meaning, if you're paying $1,100 or even $1,200 a month for a two bedroom apartment you'd expect things an $800 apartment wouldn't offer. This is definitely not the case with Mallory Square. Thankfully my neighbors are quiet because the walls are thin and the structure itself is very poorly built, my apartment randomly cracks and you can actually see several hairline cracks through out the unit. The front gate worked for the first few weeks after I moved in in 2006 however has stopped working since then. The street lights occasionally work (that's right, they've been off more nights than they've been on) and I believe this can be attributed to the crimes that have taken place over the past year. A man was found in the lake and the circumstances of his death have yet to be revealed, all thats known is that he was attending a party at the complex and got into a fight with another man, he died later that night. The staff denied the victim lived there however just because someone is not on the lease does not mean they don't live there. This is only half of whats on my mind.
At the end of the day, all complaints and customer issues remain the same, this place charges too much for what is offered. Worst part is, rent is actually increasing every year instead of decreasing to meet market demand. Maybe thats why theres a huge sign outside advertising available units
