Newport apartments is by far the worst place I have lived! Sure it's cheap, I only pay 600 28 for water per month. However, before signing the lease in front of us, Karen told us our water was free. We said, great and signed. Two days later we were called by Karen and were told our lease had been re-done and needed to be re-signed because we have a "view" and our water is NOT free.. Okay, so $28 a month is not much BUT this was not our mistake..why should we be punished' BTW, our so called view.. Hillsborough ave.. traffic at all hours, motorcycles and semi horns at 3am. Some view I tell ya! So, the inside' more than half of the electrical outlets do not work. I believe our stove and dishwasher are the original ones from 1985! The dishwasher is not bolted in and falls forward all the time. The refrigerator is VERY yellow with stains that refuse to budge. The stove has broken twice in the 6 months we have lived here. Instead of giving us a new one, they come to my apartment make a mess while trying to fix it. My bathroom! Before we even moved in, I noticed how dirty the bath tub tile looked.... In need of a very good cleaning! I have discovered, its not worth cleaning.. after bleaching.. the mold/mildew is back within a week.. The parking.... you are lucky to be able to park 3 buildings away, 7 buidings if you come home after 8pm! Oh the noise, the horriable noise! There are new people in one building over (still attached to me though) are always playing loud music and argue very loudly! One night I heard a woman screaming so badly, I though she was being killed. After about 10 minutes of this, I went outside and and spoke with several others who informed me the police were on the way.. not 2 weeks later they were at it again. They will let anyone live here! Needless to say, our lease will not be renewed. We can't wait for this to end!

There is no way Newport is the worst place to live! Water has been free periodically as a special. Hillsborough is not considered a view by the leasing staff, only management. I'm sure Karen had no say so over that. If your electrical outlets don't work, you should call the office and let them know otherwise you will always have electrical outlets that don't work. They will not know if you don't tell them. Yes, your dishwasher and stove are probably original. The dishwasher needs to be addressed to, but you have to tell the office in order for them to know! The parking is not horrible. There is plenty of parking here at Newport. I never ever have problems parking in front of my building at any time of day or night! You know as well as anyone Newport doesn't let just anyone in! EVERYONE is screened. If you don't get approved, you don't get approved. If you do, you do.

This must be a response from Karen or one of the other office staff members.... I agree with OP, Newport is awful! You can call maintanece until you are blue in the face.. they never show up!
