Bad Management Skills

Overall, the complex is quiet and seems to be well-kept until you live here for awhile. According to the property's website each condo apartment has access to two parking spaces; however, that is unless you own a motorcycle/motorscooter. The manager, who is also the owner, provided me a seven day notice of possible eviction because I owned a motor-scooter. Now, even though I was only taking up one parking space, putting the scooter at the front of the space and parking my vehicle behind, the owner stated that I "HAD" to rent a $50 covered parking space for my scooter. On top of that, the only covered spaces available were on the other side of the complex where I do not have visual coverage. SO, BEWARE MOTORCYCLE LOVERS, BECAUSE THIS COMPLEX DOES NOT WANT MOTORCYLES CLUTTERING UP THE PARKING LOTS --the management's exact words. Since this discussion and her inquiry to her lawyer, she has yet to get back to me regarding the legal aspect of forcing me to rent a covered parking space.
Also, according to other residents, there are numerous complaints on problems within the apartments in which the management does not seem too interested in correcting. Take for example, a resident submitted a problem ticket about the water heater. The mechanic told the management that it needed to be replaced; the management told the mechanic that it was not going to be replaced and to use parts to try and fix the problem as best as he could. Other issues include leaky ceilings from the roof that haven't been repaired, so stains continue to grow after every rainshower, yet it has been approx 6 months and according to management they haven't been able to get a roofer to come in.
The appliances, along with the water heater, are old and not energy efficient. The pool area has a foundation crack which has emptied and disabled the hot tub and to this day there has been no information on when the amenities are going to be repaired; however, the rent keeps rising.
Unfortunately, the complex, upon initial view, is beautiful. It's located perfectly near the base and South Tampa amenities. However, it is very unfortunate that the owner's don't recognize this value and that they continue to be the primary problem. It just seems that the owner is more interested in making a dollar than in tenant satisfaction.
