I've rented here since 1985 and love the oak trees near the picnic area which I can see when I lie down on the couch to watch TV. It is shady and the entrance is set back so that lights from cars do not intrude on my sleep at night. They have replaced my water heater, bath tub, bath sink, blinds etc. with new ones and always accommodate my maintenance requests in a timely manner. I have pest control, cable, and shampoo of my carpet included in my rent.

Although my work is 18 miles away, I decide to continue to live here because I can go north on Dale Mabry and south on Himes with right turns. I walk at Al Lopez Park on weekends, pick up registered parcels at the nearby post office, have 2 Publix (Old Carrollwood and the one at Habana) to choose from, Cox Seafood, now a Walmart Superstore, Egypt Lake library for my e-mail, and a chain bolt on my door.

I can get in and out of the lot without messing with security alarms and my friends can drop in anytime without fiddling with numbers and a gate. I would be scared to have strange cars follow me in closely at other places with a gate. They only serve to keep people in like a prison.

I don't have excessive traffic which builds up mostly from Hamilton Avenue on North Dale Mabry. Closing of Tampa Bay Mall some time ago and reduced enrollment at Jesuit High have minimised traffic on Himes over the years I've lived here.

Just wait and see. I live on their sister property and you will soon be going threw the hell that we are. And just wait...they will also lose yoour rent money and expect you to pay them that rent over again.

You think you got it bad, move to the apartments across the street.Stay away from Flamingo West Apartments!
