high rent for cheap apartment, rude leasing agents, horrible maintenance & lawn (weed) care

Pool down for 3 weeks, water turned green, tadpoles (soon to be frogs) swimming in pool, water/trash bill (a ridiculous $45-50 per month extra) due with rent on 6/1/05 still not received by 6/11/05, grass (weeds) 8-12 inches high before it gets mowed - more weeds than sod, leasing agents are rude, especially Elaina and the Asst. Mgr. - treat you like a major inconvenience, they are sweet as pie until you move in, then they treat you like you should never come into the office for anything, the model apartment is gorgeous, with upgraded appliances and cabinets, the apartment you are renting is "not available to show", so when you pick up your keys and go to your unseen apartment, you realize that the cabinets are cheap fiberboard, appliances are the cheapest, least efficient you could possibly buy, and the carpet is stained and worn, in 9 months I have never even seen the manager on property (I'm told her name is Debbie or Debra or something like that),
items on my move-in "repair" list have never been taken care of, I had to call multiple times to get some of the things done, leasing agents do not return phone calls left on answering service/machine (they are special, residents aren't), my neighbor's apartment got broken into...I called and left a message at the office...they never even responded to me or neighbor...they don't care, people are moving out, apartments remain empty for long periods of time, term gated community is a joke - the only fence/gate is in the driveway coming in, the property is not fenced, the entry gate is broke frequently,
lights in mail room have been burned out forever, have to shine car lights into mail room to see.

In responce to this: The leasing people are not rude. As a matter of fact when the residents don't get their way expecting us to bend the rules Check out Fair housing laws) or don't pay their rent on time we are considered rude for following the rules of the company?! Yes, the pool was down for "2" weeks due to a broken pump. The vendor in which we purchased the pump from was to blame for the delay. The pump was on back order, they still sent the wrong pump! Then we finally received the proper pump and they didnt send the proper parts to finish the install. We sent a letter following up with the residents and apologized for the delay. As far as the break-ins ;Unfortunatly the police department does not always let us know of the activity that happens after hours. The residents im sure would let us know if this occurs. The property manager responds immediatly!! We also have a courtsey officer that does respond to any emergencies after office hours. We have a model apartment that we show! It has all the same interior cabinets and appliances as all our apartments. There is no difference between the two. The apartments leased are not always ready to show! We pre lease apartments 60days in advance and need to wait till the previous resident moves out to get them ready! Its not a move-in "repair" list/Its a move in "inspection" form used so if there are damages Ex. stains on carpet so The resident isn't charged unfairly. We are gated "ENTRY" Ive been here 2 years and the gates were not working for 1 week with in that time. The mother board was struck by lightning (not exactly an easy overnight fix) very costly!! We care about our residents but unfortunatly, it seems you just cant please EVERYONE! |
