After living at The Preserve for two years, I could not recommend it to anyone. First, the staff is rude and incompetent. For example, my roommate and I had to request a copy of our lease four times before we received it. The office staff is responsible for setting up the trash and water service for each apartment. When I moved out several months before my roommate did, the office staff neglected to remove my name from the water bill, despite the fact that I asked them to do this and was assured that they would. The end result is that I have a $100 water bill in my name for an apartment where I was not even on the lease! Despite repeated calls, the staff claims to be unable to fix this.

A second reason I would not recommend the Preserve is the poor maintenance. The grounds are attractive to look at, but the pet clean-up policy is never enforced. Walking across the lawn is a high risk activity because of the amount of animal waste. Playing volleyball in the sand volleyball courts is a joke, since numerous cats use the court as a litter box. The cardio machines in the gym were regularly broken, as well.

Similarly, the security gates are constantly broken/stuck open. Someone tried to steal my car, causing over $500 worth of damage. The office staff never even returned my call about the incident. I suspect that if the gates had been working, this wouldn't have been a problem.

Finally, despite using the pest control services offered, the apartment I lived in had a continuous pest problem. There were cockroaches and silverfish, no matter how clean the apartment was kept. There was also a TERRIBLE flea problem when we moved in. The office staff took over a week to fix this, by which time I had dozens of flea bites on my legs. Since I don't own pets, I know these fleas were in the apartment before I moved in, and one staff member even admitted that the previous tenant had complained of trouble with fleas.

Overall, while the price was OK, and the location great, I would NOT recommend the Preserve.
