LEASING OFFICE HORRIBLE: Management here sucks and only cares about the money and not the residents. They treat someone who is a potential future resident like a king or queen, then you move in and they treat you like dirt and talk down to you. They have August to August leases here and at the end of the November they expect you to hurry and renew your lease so you are committing to staying there for another 21 months and you only have til Nov 30th to renew. But after the deadline they always beg and plead for more people to renew because people usually don't want to stay. They put up these tacky signs all over the apartment complex reminding you to renew.
RENEW RENT AFTER THREE MONTHS: Somehow these geniuses can look into the future. (NOT!) Even though your lease isn't up for nine months they seem to be able to predict blindly that PRICE FOR RENT ALWAYS GO UP. Hello, we are in the midst of the greatest economic catastrophe of most people's lifetimes. Prices tend to go down when no one is buying anything because a lot of people don't have jobs or money. But these jerks want to raise rent anyway because they don't give a damn about their residents only the money.
THEFT: I have had my car broken in like 7-8 times here. I don't keep anything of value in my car but they rummage through my stuff anyway. I guess one of the burglers got upset cause I didn't have anything good to steal so they busted another of my windows. (I stopped locking my car doors because I have had my windows smashed in several times.) Of course the leasing office doesn't care and just says to lock your car doors and this won't happen - yeah right. I have had roommates eat a lot of my food and even break into my room when I wasn't there and steal my belongings. Office doesn't care one bit. I have also had maintenance walk into my bedroom unannounced several times, and I ask them why they're here and they say: oops, must have wrong apartment.
PAPER THIN WALLS: The contruction here is horrible. You can hear all your neighbors whether they are upstairs, next door, or across the hall. You can hear people climbing up the nosiy stairs, or talking outside the apartments, or even in their restrooms! People blast their car music a lot of times and you can hear that too. I currently have a next door neighbor that likes to play his stereo loud all day long with bass that vibrates the entire apartment.
SAFETY: I am an adult male who is pretty big and strong so I don't feel too threatened walking around here at night. But there are people standing and smoking in the parking lot at night likely up to no good. There have been gunshots on occassion here so drug dealing, or possible gang violence is a definite possibility.
TRASH: There is trash everywhere in the parking lot, in the grass, in the bushes, outside your door, and just about everywhere you can possibly think of. I do see the maintenance guys out there some mornings picking up trash, but they can only do so much. Residents here have no respect for their environment whatsoever. And there are fliers and food menus and such all over as well.
OVERCHARGE FOR RENT AND UTILITIES: The leasing staff is extremely discourteous and unprofessional. They will yell at you and talk down to you. They do not care! All the utilities are suppossed to be inclued in the rent, yet almost every month they say that you have a utility overage variance and have to add it to your rent. This is an OVERCHARGING SCAM as they provide no proof that you did indeed go over the allowed utility usage.
CHEAPER ALTERNATIVES PRACTICALLY NEXT DOOR: If you go to The Pointe apartments off of 138th and Bruce B. Downs you can get the same 4 bed 4 bath with a bigger swimming pool and gym, and a Jacuzzi for $400/month vs the $480/month they are charging at reflections. I read the reviews for that apartment and they are as bad as this one, but if you can save a thousand dollars a year living there ($80 * 12mos = $960) and you get better amenities then why not. I only wish I had found them before I signed my lease here. And no I don't work for The Pointe. If you had to choose between two crummy apartments go for the cheaper one, especially with the ecomony in the tubes.
BOTTOM LINE DO NOT MOVE IN HERE UNLESS YOU ARE STUPID AND WANT MANY, MANY HASSLES. YOU WILL NOT LIKE IT HERE. SHOP AROUND FOR A BETTER DEAL SOMEWHERE ELSE OR YOU WILL BE SORRY AND REGRET IT. I AM OUUTA HERE AS SOON AS MY LEASE IS UP!!!
